Tako Taal

Tako Taal is a Welsh-Gambian artist, filmmaker, and programmer based in Glasgow, Scotland.[1][2] Her work focuses on various ways in which the legacy of colonialism impacts social and psychological conditions in the present day.[3][4]
Career[edit]
Taal graduated from Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen in 2015. Following a two-year residency at Tablot Rice Gallery in Edinburgh,[1] Taal was a RAW Material Company Academy Fellow in 2019 and shortlisted for the Margaret Tait Award in 2021.[5][6] She is scheduled to debut her first solo exhibition at Dundee Contemporary Arts in December, 2022.
