What would you say to people applying for an #ESOfellowship position? Don't be afraid of applying. I know some people that thought it was too long of a shot getting a position at ESO, although they were definitely excellent candidates. Just do it.

Which ESO duties would you be interested in? I am going to work with MUSE, the multi-unit spectrograph explorer. It is a wonderful instrument that not only has the name of a great band, but it is also extremely important for the kind of research I do.

Why ESO? In the same documentary that I watched when I was 13, they showed the Paranal Observatory. Since then, working there has been one of my dreams. It only took 20 years to get there!

Do you have a favorite astronomical object? Galaxy NGC 4051. It is one of the first active galaxies that I tried to observe on my own with a professional telescope.

If you were a superhero, what would your superpower be? Time travel. That would be amazing. Not only one could travel in the past and see exactly how things happened, but you could also travel to the future and find out answers to our current questions

Why astronomy? When I was 13, I heard in a documentary about quasars & I was so fascinated I wanted to know more about them.

What would you say to people applying for an #ESOfellowship position? Go for it! I applied for the ESO fellowship because many things are valued apart from your academic track record for eg your Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) work.

Which ESO duties would you be interested in? As an atmospheric physicist by training, I'd love to participate in ESO's weather monitoring projects.

Why ESO? ESO combines the three things I care for most at work: the sheer love for science and astronomy especially, the possibility to do observations first hand at telescope sites, and a strong committment to the community

Do you have a favourite astronomical object? Jupiter, just because it always blows my mind that you can see Jupiter and its moons with very little effort even with the smallest of telescopes.

If you were a superhero, what would your superpower be? To be able to capture atmospheric CO2 from the atmosphere to halt the climate crisis.

Why did you choose to study astronomy? I focussed first on atomic physics, then focussed on atmospheric physics for my MSc. Studying exoplanets then fell into my lap and I was hooked immediately.
