    FHP remembers Owen K. Bender who died in the line of duty on September 8, 1965. Captain Bender died in the line of duty as a result of a vehicle crash. At the time of his death, Captain Bender was 48 years old and had served the residents of Florida for 6 years.

    Up late? Be mindful to your fatigue during a morning work commute. Drinking coffee and turning up the radio may increase alertness for a short time, but getting adequate rest is the only way to help prevent drowsy driving. Take a break.

    6 year old Rose Ramirez sent a message of thanks, for all those that came to FHP & donated blood, in her honor. She is in New York receiving treatment, for her cancer. Her FHP family loves and supports this little princess.

    In the wake of Hurricane Ida, adversely affected communities need aid. The Florida Highway Patrol is honored to accept this call to service. FHP is deploying personnel to Louisiana to join with several other FL law enforcement agencies/fire departments. Together, we are stronger.

    There is still time to donate blood. The big red bus will be at FHP (133 S. Semoran Blvd.) Orlando until 7:00 pm. September is childhood cancer awareness month and we are supporting our own wonder girl, Rose as she battles cancer. Dad is a FHP sergeant.

    Tomorrow (9/2) from 9:00 am until 7:00 pm at FHP Orlando. Blood drive to support children with childhood cancer. Our own Rose Ramirez (daughter of FHP Sgt. Jose Ramirez) has been fighting cancer for almost 3 years. Come out and support her effort to help other kids!

    Happening now: Orange County. Trooper stopped to help a disabled motorist on I-4. When Tesla driving on “auto” mode struck the patrol car. Trooper was outside of car and extremely lucky to have not been struck. . WB lanes of I-4 remain block as scene is being cleared.

    Orange County: semi-truck hauling lumber crashed on the Turnpike with another vehicle and then traveled onto the shoulder of EB I-4. Driver is ok. Use caution in the area, while crews clean up the crash scene.

    Orange County: thanks to an alert citizen in Orlando, that called law enforcement-troopers think they have the 2021 Toyota Camry that struck and killed a 64 year old man last night, on Pine Hills Rd., then fled the scene. Troopers are still looking for the driver.
