The book itself only takes a few hours to read, and it is perfect for referring back to during every step of your, or your loved one’s, journey. Not only is this book necessary for anyone looking to use a surrogate to complete their family, but it is also a great resource for family members and friends who are wishing to understand the process. Dr. Bergman’s explanations are easy to understand, but still informative, and she covers all of the questions you’ve wanted to ask, as well as questions you never even thought of asking! Dr. Bergman walks you through every step of the process, from how everything works to talking to loved ones about the process. She talks about what you should consider beforehand (both financially and legally), the procedures, and mental health. I can’t think of a single topic this book failed to cover. I will absolutely recommend this book to anyone I know who is considering this method of creating their family.

This is the best book I've ever ready about surrogacy, egg donation, and sperm donation. I wish it had been around when we had our son via surrogacy and egg donation 11 years ago. I would have bought it and made it required reading for all our family. And, it will be great for our son to read in the coming years. Kim combines her professional expertise, which is massive, with heart-felt stories of success and failure. I've been lucky enough to work side-by-side with Kim for 20 years and thought I maybe knew it all...was I wrong. This book taught me some new things but more importantly gave emotion and insights from a deeply personal level. I hope this becomes required reading for all medical and psychology schools. Buy it...you'll be glad you did.
