    Florida law requires that children not be left unattended /unsupervised in a motor vehicle. Violation is a misdemeanor or felony, depending upon if harm has occurred. If you see a child or pet locked in a hot car, immediately call 911.

    All drivers, front-seat passengers, and passengers under 18 are required to properly fasten their safety belts. Failure to do so can incur a seat belt violation. Drivers are responsible for passengers under 18. Know the law and buckle up!

    For the safety of your children and pets, NEVER leave a child or pet unattended in a vehicle, even for a short period of time. The inside of a vehicle can heat up by 20 degrees in just 10 minutes!

    Bicyclists have rights to most roadways, the same as vehicles. Riders, follow the rules and signal your intentions to motorists. Drivers, help keep cyclists safe by giving them space when passing. Understand they can stop quicker than you.

    🥵PLEASE DONT LEAVE PETS IN HOT CARS🥵This week we responded to University Pkwy to a dog locked inside a car turned off. We broke a back window to rescue the playful pooch💙🐶Animal Services said it was 115° inside. Owner said he left the car running. He was issued 2 citations.

    In Florida, bicycles legally have all the privileges of a motor vehicle (except for using expressways). SAFETY TIP: Bicyclists must obey all traffic controls and signals – stopping at red lights and stop signs – the same as a car.

    There were 8,583 motorcycle crashes and 510 motorcycle fatalities in FLA last year. Motorcycle/ moped drivers have the same rights and duties as drivers of motor vehicles. Both motorcyclists and motorists should follow proper safety advice to keep everyone safe.
