    Hey Milton, just a reminder. We have had some complaints about this pedestrian crossover. Remember, at a pedestrian crossover you must wait until the pedestrian is off the roadway. This differs from a controlled intersection. Stiff fine and some points. Be aware ^DA

    This car will have a 14 day stay in the impound yard after Cst. Clare observed it this morning passing other commuter traffic at over double the speed limit on Steeles Ave E. New stunt driving legislation has increased immediate roadside penalties. ^mg

    The Milton District Response Unit stopped this vehicle today for a stunt driving offence (speeding). The Novice G2 driver had a previous stunt driving charge earlier this year! Driver charged again, licence suspended & a 14 day vehicle impoundment (under the new HTA rules) ^cm

    Our officers attended 32 drug poisonings this month, three of which, tragically, were fatal. We believe fentanyl was a contributing factor in at least 11 of these incidents, including all three fatalities. This is *very* concerning. The unregulated drug supply remains volatile.

    Milton District Response Unit and Platoon 3 Uniform Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after receiving a call from a concerned citizen . Driver arrested for Impaired by Drug. Fentanyl was located in vehicle, Trailer was stolen. Passenger also charged. ^cm

    The Milton District Response Unit actively patrols rural areas. Tonight the occupants of this truck were found consuming alcohol. Open liquor was observed in the vehicle. Driver was tested and passed the roadside screening device. Charges were laid for the liquor offence. ^cm

    The Milton District Response Unit stopped a driver today towing a large utility trailer. The trailer had no lights connected, one chain wrapped around the tongue, no operational brakes, no licence plate, no registration and no safety pin. Multiple charges laid. ^cm

    National data confirms that 2020 was the worst year for overdoses and deaths in Canada since the gov't started monitoring the crisis. Last year, on average, 17 people died every day due to opioid-related overdoses. Overdose deaths are preventable. Carry naloxone.

    Another driver lost their vehicle and licence tonight after driving in excess of 50 KM/H over the posted speed limit. The Milton District Response Unit stopped this vehicle in the area of Derry Rd. / Tremaine Rd. "Charges laid, Suspension issued, Vehicle Impounded" ^cm

    The Milton District Response Unit stopped this pickup truck today. No straps, all cargo was loose and a spear shaped metal object was sitting free above the tailgate. This was a dangerous combination. The driver was charged for failing to properly secure the load. ^cm

    This driver passed a unmarked Milton District Response Unit police vehicle and proceeded to do 135 KM/H in a 60 KM/H zone in Milton today. Licenced suspended, Vehicle impounded, and charges laid. This was very unsafe! ^cm

    *Update* We can confirm, tragically, that this is a multi-person fatality and the investigation is being conducted by our Collision Reconstruction Unit. Road closures will remain in effect for an extended period today. A media release is forthcoming. ^jb
