Just Published: Hazard Evaluation System and Information Service (HESIS) Annual Report

OHBā€™s HESIS 2019-2020 Annual Report to the California Legislature describes 2019-2020 report cover with worker in safety vest holding hard had under his arm how the programā€™s work extends far beyond its original legislative mandate to ā€œestablish and operate a repository of current data on toxic materials and harmful physical agentsā€ used in California workplaces. Highlights include examples of how HESIS investigates new workplace hazards to provide ā€œearly warningā€ to protect worker health; its critical role in promoting protective occupational health standards by providing toxicological information and recommending health-protective exposure limits to Cal/OSHA; and its unique contributions to the CDPH response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
