Rutland SC

Overview

Rutland Water is one of the largest man-made stretches of water in Europe, as big as Windermere and set in some of Britain's loveliest countryside. The beauty of Rutland can be seen at its best from a boat! Conditions are similar to estuary sailing, but without the tides - over 3000 acres (1215 hectares) of sheltered water.

The thirteen acre site on the South shore of Rutland Water boasts seven concrete slipways with four pontoons and connecting walkways, permitting easy launch and recovery of keelboats and cruisers. There are 145 moorings for cruisers and parking space for 850 dinghies and sailboards.

You can compete in Club races, Open Meetings... or just sail! As well as a Sailing School, there's a Chandlery to supply boat parts, spares, clothing - everything you and your boat may need. There are specialist sections for youth sailing and those with disabilities. The Club is recognised by the RYA as one of their centres for training Olympic and National Teams.
