Address:
270 Divisadero St. 1525 Waller St San Francisco CA 94117 USA
Mission:
The Haight Ashbury Food Program believes it is not enough to feed people for a day but it is essential to help people feed themselves and others for a lifetime. The mission of the Haight Ashbury Food Program is to support the principle that freedom from hunger is a right not a privilege. We exist to provide meals, job training and referral services to those in need while fostering a sense of belonging and self worth for all involved. Finally, we are committed to sustaining a program based on compassion, respect and empowerment.
Programs:
The Haight Ashbury Food Program provides hot, nutritious meals to upwards of 600 people daily. These meals are prepared by participants in our Food Service Job Training Project who are building a pathway toward employment and self-sufficiency. HAFP also provide our community with access to San Francisco's One Stop Workforce Development System, computer, internet, and telecommunications resources, a weekly health clinic, referral services and advocacy to help end the cycle of hunger and poverty in San Francisco and beyond.
