What is the Magic of Volunteering?

The magic of volunteering may be the satisfaction of giving hours of your time as an Auxilian. Perhaps it means participating as a committee member for a Foundation project. It could also mean working with the hospital's Spiritual Care services to provide patients with spiritual support, grief counseling or acting as a liaison to local faith communities.

All of these volunteer opportunities and many more are available to you as a volunteer at our organization. We have more than 1,400 volunteers, who give countless hours and energy to make our community hospital one of the best in the country. Consider volunteering to help your community.

Many organizations and initiatives within the hospital recruit volunteers including:

• El Camino Hospital Auxiliary and RoadRunners
• Spiritual Care and Care Companion Service
• Health Library and Resource Center
• Chinese Health Initiative
• South Asian Heart Center
• El Camino Health Foundation

Orientation and training are provided, and volunteers benefit from free access to hospital resources, including classes offered through the education department. It's a wonderful job for an outgoing individual who enjoys interacting with people and likes to be active.
