Mohammed Al Ta’ani, Jordan

Eng. Mohammed Al Ta’ani is the General Manager of Jordanian Renewable Energy Society (JRES) and Secretary General of Arab Renewable Energy Commission (AREC). He is the founder of both JRES and AREC. He was working in the field of Renewable Energy since 1988 (Solar PV & Green Buildings) as project manager and researcher and published more than 25 papers. From 1999-2007, he was the project manager for renewable energy in King Abdullah the Second Design Development Bureau (KADDB). In 2002, he was the Project manager for the Jordanian Solar Car & Zero Fossil Fuel House (Eco House for KADDB). He was the Vice Director of Energy Centre in Jordan University from 2007 until 2008 where he was working as the founder of this centre. He was the founder of the Global Net for Renewable Energy in the Desert Regions (GNREADER). Also, now he is Chairman of Renewable Energy Committee in Jordan Institution for Standards & Metrology, Ambassador of the DONG Energy Solar Challenge events in the middle-east countries (World Cup for Solar Powered Boats). Marc Boillot, France

Marc started his career at the R&D; department of Electricité de France (EDF) in 1980. He then worked in North America for ten years. In 1990 he opened the EDF’s representative office in Washington D.C. and in 1997 he became head of Gaz de France Quebec in Canada.

In 2000, he was appointed head of the Clermont-Ferrand Distribution area in France. From 2003 as EDF Commerce Regional Director in Lyon, he participated in the opening of the electricity and gas markets. He then joined the EDF Group Strategy Division where he had the responsibility over international projects strategy, including renewables. He was then appointed Senior Vice President for strategy, project development (smart meters and smart grids) and international development at Enedis (formerly the distribution unit of EDF). Until recently he was Senior Vice President at EDF in charge of Regional Development.

During his career Marc was involved in more than 150 projects, in Europe (France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Italy, Spain, Germany, UK etc.), Africa (Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone etc.), Asia (Japan, China, Malaysia, Taiwan, Laos etc.) and the Americas (the USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, etc). He is presently an Ambassador of Global Smart Grid Federation (GSGF) for Europe and Africa.

Oscar Miranda, Mexico

Oscar Miranda is co-founder and Chairman of Smart Grid Mexico, a non-profit organization whose mission is encourage the development and establishment of smart grids in Mexico regarding reliability, efficiency, security and sustainability principles. Oscar has more than twenty five years of experience developing Information Technologies Solutions in the Mexican Energy sector. He is employed at Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) since 1993, where he has held various positions relating to IT.

Currently, in CFE Oscar is responsible of IT Security, Software Strategy and Smart Grid IT perspective. Oscar has been member of several working groups and intergovernmental committees regarding IT, as a representative of the energy sector. Currently he is member of Federal IT Security committee, where he works on Industrial Control Systems Security and Critical Infrastructure. Oscar has a degree in Computing Engineering from National University in Mexico (UNAM), also he has studied Leadership, Innovation, Strategy and Corporate Government in several Universities in Mexico and USA. Currently, he is studying a master degree in Energy Management and their renewables sources at Technological Institute of Higher Studies at Monterrey, Mexico (ITESM).
