Dane is a boy has been at the Lucille Packard Children's Hospital for the last few months due to complications from muscular dystrophy. Several Palo Alto Firefighters met Dane when they we visiting another patiend in the hospital. Many of the firefighters have paid Dane several visits over the last few months because he may be the biggest fan of firefighters you'll ever meet. On Wednesday, January 16 Dane was in town with his Mom for a check up. He decided that he wanted to see his friends, so he stopped by Fire Station 2 to say, "Hi." Firefighter Jesse Wooton's Mom made Dane a firefighter blanket. And during his visit the crews at Station 2 presented Dane with his gift. As you see Dane receive his gift, you can hear him tell his Mom, "Let's throw away the train blanket." We think he liked it. Thank you, Dane for making our days brighter and filled with joy. Visit us anytime you are in town. We love to see you!

Your Palo Alto Fire Department Honor Guard had the privilege of honoring our nation’s flag at a local retirement community this past Veteran’s Day. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the presentation was filmed, and then sent to residents, many of who are veterans, in the form of a video. We’re proud of our department’s Honor Guard, and we’re similarly proud to be able to show Palo Altans that we appreciate the sacrifice so many have made for our country. #paloalto #paloaltofire #pafd #veteransday #honorguard
