Reviews for Nautilus Of America, Inc.
I am a volunteer on the Pegasus and work with several other volunteer crew members, and Capt. Richard Gillette. I am so moved at the dedication and efficiency shown by the captain and crew.....starting with lining up all the children on the dock by height so to be sized for life vests and tethers, rotating around from bow to stern with lifelines for safety attached so all kids can experience different places and the bowspirit, even steering the ships wheel if they desire. Kids are schooled in the nature, winds and tides, wildlife and ecosystems of our beautiful bay, seeing birds, fish seals and dolphins. There is absolutely nothing like the joy of seeing our beautiful bay through the eyes of a child that would never get a chance to see it otherwise....I cannot say enough about what this experience adds to the life of a child. It is an investment in our future!

none, it is perfect and fulfilling as it is.
I volunteer as a crew member aboard Pegasus, a 51ft sailing vessel that takes school children out on San Francisco Bay to introduce them to sailing and to the ecology of the Bay. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most of them and the experience remains with them for many years, as indicated by their letters to us.

My 6 years with the Pegasus Project, helping to sail the boat and help the children stay safe as they learn to move around the boat, taking their turn on the seat on the bowsprit and sometimes taking the helm to experience steering a 22 ton sailing vessel.

Advertise to a wider group of schools so more children can enjoy this wonderful experience.
Helping to facilitate an experience for a child who doesn't have access to sailing is a great joy! Pegasus is an incredible project for kids of all ages! It is a top notch run organization providing direct and invaluable types of experiences for at risk kids!
A fabulous organization!

Have many more sailing projects like this! Have more funding so that the boat can facilitate more school groups of at risk kids!
