The new Twin Falls Community Reentry Center is a step closer to accepting its first residents.  

The chairman of the Idaho Board of Correction, Dr. David McClusky, cut the ribbon for the facility’s ceremonial opening last Thursday. The first of the 160 men who will live at TF-CRC are expected to arrive in early November.

The Silver Cross Awards were presented to three Heroes who administered Nasal Naloxone, commonly known as Narcan, to a person under supervision who was overdosing from opiate based substances.  The Department of Correction began carrying Narcan through a grant proposal that District 7, Lead Probation Officer, Russ Waite wrote in 2017 to the State Office of Drug Policy for each officer to carry Narcan as part of their uniform gear.  The State Office of Drug Policy awarded the Idaho Department of Correction the grant, and after proper training, Narcan was issued to each officer [read more...]

Congratulations to the 12 members of Probation and Parole Academy #30. An informal graduation ceremony was held for the class at POST on Thursday.

Jennifer Bazar, IDOC’s training program supervisor, called the class “top notch.” 

“You all have been one of the easiest groups in an academy that I have had the pleasure of being a part of,” Jennifer said.
