Hello, IP editor. Based on a quick Google and Google Books search, I believe that John Albert Burr is probably notable and eligible for a Wikipedia biography. He already has one sentence of coverage in the history section of Lawn mower. Please consider registering an optional Wikipedia account and read Your first article. CHANGE /AMEND /UPDATE MY PHOTO[edit]

dear Wikipedia HelpDesk,

my mail to You is overdue . personally , i am an adamant digital neanderthal . i work in Film &TV and i am lucky & grateful to have wonderful people in my life who are looking after my digital presence which we keep to a minimum . please believe you me ,they have tried now for a very looong time to reach out , contact you and get the following issue sorted out.it's about my web-profile on Wikipedia , particularly my photo !

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anatole_Taubman

it's inaccurate , outdated and belongs to the past . plus it is per se a very unfortunate picture , since it was taken randomly , at some night event . it has little to do with who i am today and how i look today . it doesn't really represent me.although this might be also my personal sensitivity , my lovely people failed in their quest via you to have this image changed/amended/updated and i am making now an effort to contact you now directly since it is about Me and my personal right.

i have a photo where i own the rights to and can easily get a confirmation from friend & photographer Benedict Frank.

ideally , i would like this photo to be used for All wikipedia sites/ languages because on the German version , there's again a photo which i can live with , especially as an adamant UNICEF Ambassador but would also prefer to use this Benedict Frank photo .

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anatole_Taubman

please kindly help me and let me know how to proceed and how i can get this Benedict Frank photo to you.

thank You dearly ever so much !

Idea: Alternative to Facebook[edit]

Hi Wikipedia, Considering how social media is being manipulated/used for nefarious purpose, I'm thinking YOU could design a platform where people can socialize without the whole thing devolving into an Orwellian nightmare. You could ask for contributions from users, and avoid advertising, which seems to be used for mind control, etc... I don't know what parameters you'd want to put onto it, but you are smarter than me and could design it so that the community is available for people to use it in a spirit of sharing and discussion. It's just an idea. I think people are ready for an alternative to Facebook/Twitter. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AmyKathleenRyan (talkcontribs) 15:56, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

While I'm sure people are ready for an alternative to Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Instagram, Telegraph, and whatever else is out there of that ilk, such a project would be beyond the scope of the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation's mission to provide free educational content to the world. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 16:00, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

Correcting a page[edit]

Gadget/gadget definition[edit]

I notice that the gadget/gadget definition appears on almost every project, however one thing puzzles me. Why is this namespace used on every project but no pages have this namespace? See ru:Special:Random/gadget, fr:Special:Random/gadget, and es:Special:Random/gadget. Note that Gadget:Invention, Travel, & Adventure on the English Wikipedia is NOT an actual gadget, it is a redirect as this title should not be used for an article. Gioguch (talk) 17:54, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

@Gioguch: This namespace was originally configured to contain the gadgets for the project, so they can be edited by anyone, as Pages in The MediaWiki:-Namespace cannot be edited by anyone that isn't an interface admin. It isn't heavely used, howewer, In theory you could create a gadget there. Victor Schmidt (talk) 18:36, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
Here is a relevant old discussion, it appears to have been part of a plan of reorganizing gadgets and making them more modular, but that plan was never finished. – Thjarkur (talk) 22:13, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

Question from ALLBN[edit]

Conflict Disclosure: Academic Journal Project[edit]

I am the founding editor of a scholarly journal covered under the Wikipedia Academic Journals Project. I want to make some purely factual corrections to the article and to add a bit of factual detail (including correcting an inconsistency between the current editor's name in the sidebar of the article and in its stubby text). I founded the journal in 1979 and passed on the editorship in 1995, but I remain on its editorial board. I believe my edits would have value, are purely factual (e.g., adding the names of the first two editors of the journal and the dates of their succession), and would not in any way undermine trust in the integrity of Wikipedia. I hope I can publish edits to the article with disclosure as a connected contributor, but I do not understand how or where I am supposed to make the disclosure. Please advise. THANKS. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Grdfoge (talkcontribs) 20:34, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

Feedback on color coding[edit]

Color coded table

I've recently created List of national monuments of Taiwan, and I'm thinking of color coding the categories, shown collapsed on the right, that I think will bring more contrast. Would this be helpful, or is this unnecessary? Is there some accessibility guideline that I'm not aware of? Any feedback on these colors, or the list article in general, is welcome.  Ganbaruby! (Say hi!) 22:41, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

Ganbaruby, have you consulted MOS:COLOUR? —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 22:55, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
@Tenryuu: Yup, though most of that seems to be about the contrast between color and text, instead of between different colors. None of the cells are links, colors aren’t essential, and they all should be WCAG AAA.  Ganbaruby! (Say hi!) 23:13, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
@Ganbaruby: The School looks a little iffy to me, though it is AA. Can I suggest School (#CFA0A0), which is AAA? This is assuming the #202122 I get for the foreground color – I don't know exactly where that comes from or whether other skins, etc. might be darker by default; I wouldn't guess they'd be much lighter. —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 00:23, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
@AlanM1: You're right, that's a mistake on my part. I've reflected it on the table, and checked the other colors again. Thanks!  Ganbaruby! (Say hi!) 02:38, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

National socialist movement[edit]

There is a page on Wikipedia containing info about the National socialist movement. It states their political orientation is “far-right”.

Socialism for starters is not on the right side of the spectrum, it’s a leftist ideology. The right or Republican Party was formed in opposition to the Democratic Party and slavery. The Republican Party was also founded in the north- Ripon, Wisconsin to be exact, what side did they fight in the civil war? The right or Republicans support capitalism not socialism.

This claim, that the National Socialist Movement is far-right or right in any way is wrong and mis-information. Totalitarian government is large government- another leftist ideology, the exact definition of it.

The claim in that article is completely wrong and goes against everything Wikipedia stands for and represents. The article needs to be corrected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.144.145.75 (talk) 00:05, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

The right has always been about conservatism, and the left liberalism, since the days of the French Republic (indeed, the terms "left-wing" and "right-wing" come from where the liberals and conservatives sat while in legislative sessions - liberals to the left side of the chamber, and conservatives to the right). "Big government" can apply equally to either wing, especially outside of North America. (Also, fascism - such as espoused by a rather infamous National Socialist party - is conservatism taken to its illogical extreme.) —A little blue Bori v^_^v Hasteur Hasteur Ha-- oh.... 00:21, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
(edit conflict)Depending on which page you are posting about, you might find that this has been discussed already at the article talk page, which is where you should make suggestions to improve the article. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 00:26, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
(ec) In any case, this is the general help desk. If you have suggestions for improving an article, the place to find people that actually work on that article, and who are interested in and knowledgeable about the subject, is the article's individual talk page. There are several articles listed at National Socialist Movement, and you didn't mention which, or I'd give you the precise link. Go to the article of concern, click on the "Talk" tab, and you'll find what I'm sure is a long history of discussion. —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 00:33, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

How to add something[edit]

Hello, AllenMom14. My condolences for your sister. But Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not a memorial site. The sad fact is that thousands of people get murdered: Wikipedia is not about trying to collect complete lists of anything, but summarising information about people and other subjects which meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability - in this case, people who have been written about in some depth for some reason other than being murdered. I'm sorry. --ColinFine (talk) 09:33, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

Shibaniairserviceslimited, hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears that you have already created an account and do not need (and should not) to create another one. However, your username concerns me as it is promotional. Please see WP:USERNAME and consider renaming yourself. Heart (talk) 04:10, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
And as WP:USERNAME points out, it's not possible to create an account for a company or an institution. An account is for one person, not for two or more people. Furthermore, anyone working at Shibani Air Services should not be editing articles about aviation: please see Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. -- Hoary (talk) 07:21, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

Orphaned Talk page[edit]

Hej, I noticed that (I think due to a wrong config in the talk page archiving) here Talk:White_supremacy, there is an orphaned talk page archive here Talk:White_supremacy/Archives/_1 - which is not captured by the archivebox in the header, and can't be found. How does one deal with that? Should it be pagemoved or should the text be cut & pasted into the last proper archive here Talk:White_supremacy/Archive_5? Thanks in advance --Mvbaron (talk) 09:53, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

It was a result of this missed vandalism which broke the bot configuration. The archive can be moved to "Archive 6". – Thjarkur (talk) 10:08, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
Þjarkur, Oh my, thank you for finding this... And the bot won't be confused when there is a new Archive with a new index? Mvbaron (talk) 10:10, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
I think there are some bots that require you to manually update the index, but this bot automatically figures it out. – Thjarkur (talk) 10:12, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
Thank you! I see the talk page has been moved. This can be closed :) Mvbaron (talk) 10:13, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

Actually, the bot just archived to /5 and not to the latest archive (which is now, after the move) /6... this makes the archives a bit confusing but I assume it’s not a big issue... --Mvbaron (talk) 22:08, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady Aparecida[edit]

It is necessary an edition in the title of the page Basilica_of_the_National_Shrine_of_Our_Lady_of_Aparecida, in 2016 the church was recognized as a Cathedral, therefore nowadays the most recognized name is Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady Aparecida (see the Portuguese version of the page). This also will help to provide better access to information. This same request is already on article's talk page since 29 July 2020, with no modifications or answers until now. Also is not possible to submit a technical move request here once the page is protect, therefore the last possible modifications and requests there were 27 days ago. Can someone do this move? 84.241.193.184(talk) 09:58, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

  • I disagree with the move, but it makes sense to invite wider participation, so I will open a move request at the talk page of the article. TigraanClick here to contact me 15:00, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
I respectfully ask you to notice that you made a mistake Tigraan, my request above is clearly to change to "Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady Aparecida" and NOT the full official name. As I mentioned in the page, the Wikipedia name of a place/location should be what people recognize as popular. Therefore, since the Cathedral title was granted in 2016, people started more and more to address as "Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Aparecida", although the official name is "Cathedral Basilica of the National Shrine of Our Lady Aparecida". The Portuguese Wikipedia version of the page is exactly as referred "Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady Aparecida" https://pt.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catedral_Bas%C3%ADlica_de_Nossa_Senhora_Aparecida 84.241.193.184(talk) 16:29, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

Charles Ross (historian)[edit]

I do not know where to report a bug and whether it needs to be corrected somehow. Therefore, I am writing here.

Wikification error in Charles Ross (historian): the link leads to Anne Crawford - but she was an actress, not a British historian with the same first and last name. Avedon (talk) 10:48, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

Hello Аведон, thank you for spotting, I've updated the link. For links that point to the wrong target, you can try to to update them to point to the correct page. In instances where no page exists you can try to guess what such a page would likely be named, in this case Anne Crawford (historian). – Thjarkur (talk) 10:52, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
Hello! The article about Anne Crawford (which historian) does not exist or Wiki's Search does not find the page. I didn’t fix this wrong link - change it for red link or delete wikification. Because I didn't know if it was possible to do it. PS: I'll know for the future. Thanks. Avedon (talk) 11:05, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

@PenchoLinden: Your edits were reverted as they removed sourced material and your edit summary indicates otiginal research or opinion. The editor that restored the content made it clear in his ES; did you read that? BTW starting an edit summary with 'now listen' is not helping. If you disagree with the other editor please start a discussion at the article talk page to reach a consensus. (Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four keyboard tildes like this: ~~~~.) Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 14:33, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
  • @PenchoLinden: once your 24h block for edit warring expires, you should go to Talk:Sigmund Freud and make your case for the edit you want to make here (essentially, removing Beauvoir's criticism from the page). Such case would be greatly helped by references supporting the edit (for instance, an academic review indicating that no serious contemporary philosopher thinks Beauvoir's criticism holds water).
Even if you think all other people on the page are idiots, or illiterate, or acting in bad faith, Wikipedia policy still requires that you try to collaborate with them. TigraanClick here to contact me 14:52, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

Antlantis Rising[edit]

Is the magazine Antantis Rising a reliable source? It seems speculative to me. Rich (talk) 16:31, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi Richard L. Peterson, we have a special noticeboard for discussing the reliability of sources - it's at WP:RSN. It would help if you gave a link to the magazine's website, and also indicated which article it's being used on, and what assertions it's being used to support - a source may be reliable for one assertion, but unreliable for another, editors will need the context in order to make a determination. "Jewish"[edit]

Why, when an individual is Jewish, does it have to be mentioned somewhere within the first three lines from the top of the paragraph? When an individual is Catholic, etc. it is not given the same prominent positioning. For example is you look at Sam Liccardo, Mayor of San Jose, his Mexican, Sicilian and Irish descent is not mentioned until the 3rd line from the bottom. You will NEVER see "Jewish" way down there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.54.227.43 (talk) 16:41, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi IP editor. Per the guidelines as WP:BLPLEAD, there is no reason why someone's ethnicity or religion should be mentioned in the lead section of an article unless it is connected to their notability. Editing Central Description in Page Information[edit]

That is presumably the description in Wikidata. --David Biddulph (talk) 19:47, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
@AmirahBreen: I'm surprised there's no edit link (pencil icon) beside it, but if you click on the "Wikidata item" link (in the Tools submenu on the left side of the screen in desktop view), you can edit it there (in each language).
Also, please don't put parentheses around your signature – as you can see, it makes automated tools not recognize it as such. The ~~~~ should be the very last thing in your posting. I also see that your name in that signature is not linked to your user or talk pages (a requirement of WP:SIG). The name is incorrect. It should be Morris Lipschitz. My husband Gerry lipschitz is his son. Thank you. Ann Lipschitz — Preceding unsigned comment added by 104.180.72.33 (talk) 22:10, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

Wikipedia does not seem to have an article of that name under either spelling. Please provide a link to the page where the issue may exist. Are you referring to an entry in another language Wikipedia or another site altogether? If so, the matter will need to be raised there as the various language versions are separate projects and Wikipedia has no input at other sites.. A 'Google' search has not helped much. Eagleash (talk) 22:34, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
The only mention of a person called "Maurice Lipschitz" that I could find on English Wikipedia is in Lenin (horse). Cullen328 Let's discuss it 22:44, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
[EC] Is this perhaps the owner of Lenin (horse)? If so, make the suggestion at Talk:Lenin (horse); and if there's no response there after a week or so, then at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Horse racing. However onerous (or plain silly) this may seem, provide evidence: "I know because he's my father in law" won't suffice. -- Hoary (talk) 22:46, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
I didn't find much useful with Google, except this possibly reliable site, which calls him "M. Lipschitz" and a blog that has "Maurice Lipschitz". Given the period (1940s), you probably need a print source. Someone at WP:RD may have access to horce-racing sources. —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 01:12, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

Firefox issue[edit]

I use a VPN for an online learning course because they rate limit connections from outside their country. They happily sell the courses to people outside of that country but the videos are unwatchable due to constant buffering from their content hoster. After i turned it on yesterday, I happened to come to wikipedia to edit today (VPN is off, I never edited wikipedia while it was enabled), and wikipedia says I'm caught in a range block. The VPN Is windscribe and I use their firefox browser plugin. I've verified the VPN is off, and even visited ipchicken and ipchicken shows the address that I'm currently editing from. I can even edit my own talk page, which seems to be a clear indication that wikipedia ses my correct address, yet, when I try to edit any other page on wikipedia it says I'm caught in a range block which doesn't match the current address I'm using, instead I see this message "Editing from 104.254.92.0/22 has been blocked (disabled) by ‪ST47‬ for the following reason(s):" I'm currently editing from Chrome, but chrome is not my main browser, so obviously my IP isn't actually blocked. I cleared cookies in firefox and restarted it, and I've triple checked, the VPN is turned off (otherwise Ipchicken wouldn't be showing this as my IP address). Any ideas?--125.129.16.99 (talk) 00:55, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

A quick search says that Windscribe is also a proxy in addition to VPN, so it may still be rerouting your traffic. Try removing the plugin and see if that makes it work again. RudolfRed (talk) 01:09, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
No change, completely removed the plugin, restarted the browser, it's still claiming I'm in that block. I've used windscribe tons of times in between editing wikipedia before, so I'm not sure why it thinks that now.--125.129.16.99 (talk) 01:13, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
@125.129.16.99: I'm confused. Your post above, and other edits to talk and article pages a few minutes earlier from the same IP address, were all successful. Are you saying that those are being done with a different browser (Chrome?) and that the problem occurs when you try to use Firefox? Does it also happen with a Firefox "Private window"? My experience with VPNs is limited to those that integrate with the network stack directly. Assuming it does happen in a "Private window", I'm guessing that the plugin needs to be disabled from somewhere in the Firefox settings (maybe by disabling it in the [about:addons Addons] config?). You may need to talk to the VPN's support people and/or remove/reinstall Firefox. —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 01:34, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
That's correct. If I try to edit through firefox, which I've done numerous times, I get a message saying I'm blocked. These edits and the recent article edit are all being done via Chrome. In firefox my IP address is showing correctly when I visit websites that display my IP address (like ipchicken), and when I edit my talk page, the wikipedia system seems to be aware that I'm on this IP address (otherwise why would it let me edit that talk page?) but when I try to edit any other page, it claims I'm in a blocked range on firefox. The talk page edits were done in the firefox browser.--125.129.16.99 (talk) 02:35, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

As a further test here, I've reinstalled the windscribe plugin and tried to access wikipeda via various locations, just to see what happens. When I choose specific locations, the blocked messsage changes to match those locations. When I disconnect, it goes back to claiming I'm in this 104 IP block when I'm clearly not. This is very strange.--125.129.16.99 (talk) 05:05, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

I just solved this. Previously I called up the cookies in firefox, hit remove and then tried to access and it didn't work. this time I used the "save changes" button after removing the new cookies and got a different pop up. After doing that, I can now edit again via firefox. It seems like the cookies weren't properly being removed earlier, and this was a cookie problem.--125.129.16.99 (talk) 05:09, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

specific dead link scenario[edit]

hello wiki users. while editing the page for john edward robinson, i came across a specific citing issue i don't know how to fix. a specific source was cited multiple times on the page, but the link was down. i was able to find an archive of the page (and edited the citation accordingly), but only page 1 of the 16-page article was archived, meaning that most of the information on the wikipedia page cannot be verified. i don't want to list it as a dead link, as there is still one page; should i just remove the citation on information that is no longer available, or is there a way to list a link as partially dead? thank you so much for your help :) --Vaporwaveboyfriend (talk) 02:38, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

Michael Nicholson[edit]

Hi, I have tried to submit a listing on Wiki, but have been disappointed to get mutliple replies that are quite angry actually. Is it possible to correspond with someone who is a bit more sympathetic to my cause please? In my submission below l have tried very hard to take all the right steps and follow the various guidelines. Regards, Mike.

Michael Nicholson [Film maker]

Michael Nicholson [born 1954] is an Australian film maker, writer and artist. Michael John Nicholson I would suggest that you not attempt to write about yourself, while not forbidden, it is strongly discouraged per the autobiography policy(please review). Wikipedia, to be frank, is not interested in what someone wants to say about themselves, but only in what independent reliable sources have chosen on their own to say about someone, showing how they meet the special Wikipedia definition of a notable person. Specifically, in your case, the definintion of a notable creative professional. Most people have great difficulty in writing about themselves as if they know nothing about themselves other than what they read in the news or other reputable, independent reliable sources. If you truly meet the definition of a notable creative professional and are written about significantly in independent sources, an independent editor will eventually take note of your career and choose to write about you.
I would also note that a Wikipedia article about yourself is not necessarily desirable; there are good reasons to not want one. 331dot (talk) 11:59, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
You have been repeatedly told how to do this, or more appropriately, how not to, if you are notable someone unconnected with you will write an article, your sources above suggest that you are NOT notable yet, please stop spamming Wikipedia with your requests. Theroadislong (talk) 12:03, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
  • OP's actions:
    - "Can I have an article?"
    - "How much do I have to pay to have an article?"
    - "But there's an article about my brother!"
    - Attempting an article about himself (that wouldn't even make it to AfD) in all the wrong places.
    - Ignoring every explanation along the way as to where he's going wrong.
I have plugged this timesink. If OP shows the slightest interest in working on anything else, unblock him. If he even indicates that he wants write about himself but will actually pay attention to what people say instead of just begging for us to do it and pointing to articles that also need to be deleted, sure, I'm not gonna wheel-war if you unblock him. @KanaKaNn:, I assume the article in question is Russo-Turkish War (1676–1681)? It looks like there has been a slow burning edit war over if the infobox should say "Ottoman victory" or "indecisive" since 2016, so about 4 years now. Prior to 2015, the result field in the infobox just linked to Treaty of Bakhchisarai. In November of 2015, Kansas Bear added the "indecisive" label citing A Military History of Russia: From Ivan the Terrible to the War in Chechnya, (Greenwood Publishing, 2006), 41;"The indecisive Russo-Turkish War from 1676-1681 centered on the control of the fortress of Chigirin, just west of the Dnepr River." In January 2016 an IP user changed it to "decisive Ottoman Victory" without changing the "cited" source. In 2017 Historiker123454 was blocked for 31 hours for edit warring on the same article, presenting the same source you cite above in very similar language. Out of curiosity, are you the same person as Historiker123454? If so and you've just forgotten your password or something, I suggest you make a note of that on your userpage. Please note, that what other Wikipedias say has no bearing on what the English Wikipedia says. I reccomend you visit Talk:Russo-Turkish War (1676–1681), present the Brian Davies source and any other academic sources you have that support your position (i.e. not other Wikipedias), and see if you can build consensus for your position, perhaps with a WP:RFC. In the alternative, if there actually is scholarly disagreement about the result of that war, the best thing might be to return the infobox to its pre 2015 state where it just said Treaty of Bakhchisarai in the result field. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 16:01, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
Actually, this editor has used different accounts, namely;Hakan255, Historiker123454, and 45.136.170.188 to edit war since they are unable to provide a quote from Davies, Brian L., Warfare, state and society on the Black Sea steppe, 1500-1700, Routledge, 2007 page number 172.
Since they have been unable to edit war their opinion into the article, they have resorted to posting battleground comments throughout Wikipedia.
FYI, I'm not Russian and my flag is the flag of Scotland. Click on the link and that is what it says. Pretty much done with trolls, battleground comments, and PAs(accusation of sockpuppetry)! --Kansas Bear (talk) 16:23, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

Correct mis-named uploaded image[edit]

Re: Commons Wikimedia File:Sandra Cason ("Casey" Hayden).jpg. Some time ago I uploaded a police mug shot which I mistakenly identified as being that of Casey Hayden. It is actually a picture of another 1960s-era civil rights activist Joan Trumpauer Mulholland, and I have since placed as an image in her Wiki entry. But it is still identified on Commons Wikimedia as Sandra Cason ("Casey" Hayden) and so comes up in general browser image searches under her name. How can I correct this--go back into Wikimedia and rename, or delete and reload as Joan Trumpauer Mulholland?

yes; due to the size of the article, I get WMF error 503 errors. The LEVEL1

markers are workarounds to a problem that a reboot in the summer was supposed to fix. "503" is lumped into "500s" errors, and they're not high prio for fixing. I did "cohosts" without a problem - which may be why fixing the not-always "503" is low prio. something new - I'm getting 502, not 503. I never got a 502 before.

Vandalism help request from PunkAndromeda[edit]

I have noticed some vandalism at Brianna Hildebrand. Namely, continued edits in Arabic and edits including links to Qasem Soleimani which are entirely unrelated, unsourced, and frankly make no sense - in the page, history, these edits have been made by the IP addresses 5.124.173.156, 5.124.94.227, 5.22.65.194 and 5.22.62.52. Hello IP, I dont have TFA enabled, but I guess this should be the way:
  1. go to Special:UserLogin
  2. enter your account's username and password.
  3. next, you will be propmpted to enter a security code form your app. enter one of the scratch codes instead.
  4. Once you are logged in, go to Special:OAuth to disable 2fa temporarely. You need another scratch code for that.
Once you are done with that, you can reenable tfa for your new device. Victor Schmidt mobil (talk) 10:27, 2 October 2020 (UTC)
