The Illinois Technology Foundation (ITF) is a fantastic volunteer organization dedicated to the higher purpose of enabling Illinois students to achieve successful technology careers. We work with grade school and high school students to encourage interest in technology related careers. We also prepare college students to enter the technology workforce, land meaningful roles and lead successful careers.
This work is accomplished through a strong network of volunteers who are committed to giving back to the student community through a variety of programs and sharing of personal career lessons learned. I'm proud and honored to have served on the Board of Directors with this great organization for the last several years and look forward to reaching more students as we continue to grow.
The ITF is a vehicle that enables professionals to contribute to the community in concrete, positive ways. This organization has enabled me to reach students that otherwise might be under served with regards to mentors and assistance in navigating the real business world. I appreciate the opportunities to get out there to work with students to help them achieve their dreams.
Bill Waas has taken the Illinois Technology Foundation (ITF) from a small group of people to a well recognized brand and has accomplished terrific things to help achieve the mission of the ITF to develop the technology talent in the State of Illinois. His tireless efforts are contagious as he continues to recruit some of Illinois' top IT executives to help the ITF continue to achieve its vision.
Illinois Technology Foundation (ITF) has done and continues to expand its programs to keep technology talent in Illinois, get kids K-12 interested in Technology, and connect industry professionals with college students & educational institutions. Technology is the future and ITF is enabling it for our young people.
It is a privilege to be part of the Illinois Technology Foundation (ITF). The mission and purpose of the foundation serves the needs of students and businesses in maintaining a vibrant technology industry in Chicago and Illinois. To the credit of the ITF's leadership and many volunteers an impressive array of meaningful programs and opportunities exist.
I am honored to be a recent appointment to the ITF Board of Directions. The commitment of the ITF to advance the IT career paths of students while engaging the business community will ensure not only career opportunities for emerging students but also ensure that Illinois retains the best and brightest employees in the ever expanding technology field.
It has been my honor and privilege to serve on the Board of the Illinois Technology Foundation since its inception. The devotion, talent and energy of the ITF is impressive. The ITF provides students with unique and valuable IT opportunities and resources for networking, mentoring, scholarship, and award events. I have seen the impact and value of this group not only with other students in the Chicagoland area, but also with the high school that my own children attend. I highly encourage those in the IT industry in the area to check out the ITF and get involved with the group.
I have served on the ITF board since its inception. Our success in engaging the academic and business community is core to the success of our programs. To that extent the ITF is setting a standard for any other NFP to my knowledge. Our board is comprised of a highly diverse, successful and passionate group of professionals representing academia, industry and the NFP model. We have working relationships with many schools, administrators, executives and, most importantly, students. Our programs enable engagement in so many ways that students who take advantage of it can't help but grow as future professionals in the IT industry.
The real test of an organizations commitment is its ability to take what it offers right to the community, thats exactly what ITF has done and is willing to continue to do.
ITF Chairman Bill Waas is not afraid to hit the streets and even go door to door as an evangelist in ensuring that future technology talent stay in Illinois.
Passion, Commitment and Excellence defines ITF and its professional members.
The ITF is a vibrant community of passionate advocates and leaders committed to the development of the next generation of technology leaders for Illinois. It has been my honor and delight to serve on the Board since its inception. My focus on the Board is to promote and to educate our students on the benefits and impact of the "soft skills" of communication, collaboration, relationship building, influencing and networking. Enhancing the technical tool kit with business ready skills will differentiate our students and ultimately enrich the technology sector and its reach. Working and partnering with my dynamic Board colleagues, students, volunteers and educators is both empowering and life changing. This is an organization that lives its mission each day and that strives for real world successes. I am privileged to have seen and felt the energy, the joy and the pride of our students. Our journey is ongoing and exciting---I am a believer!
Volunteering with Illinois Technology Foundation provided me with incredible mentors that I return to for advice over and over. It truly means a lot to me, since my original background was not in technology, and I was stumbling about in the field by myself for a while. ITF also gave me many opportunities to learn invaluable skills that I could put to work professionally right away.
Being invited to serve on the board of this great organization was a huge honor and accomplishment for me personally. I would greatly recommend for anyone to volunteer and be involved with ITF in any way, small or big, that they can.
ITF offers an unprecedented opportunity for students to get to know experienced IT professionals from many industries, who are there to mentor them, share their experience and help in so many ways to start the Illinois youth on their path to successful IT careers. It is also a great place to network with recent graduates and peers from other schools.
I am very proud to be part of the Foundation and to be a Board member of this exceptional organization.

It has been an honor to serve on the Board for the past 5 years. This is an amazing organization of dedicated individuals whose sole mission is to assist kids through career development in IT. I would highly recommend anyone who want to give back to join and assist us.
I am proud to have served on the board for about 4 years. It has been a great journey so far, and truly an honor to help make an positive impact to so many students and other professionals in the Chicago-area. My roles include mentoring, managing the foundation's websites and other technical assets, and fundraising.
I have been a board member for just a year and am honored to be a part of this amazing organization. Helping students advance their technology careers and recognizing their efforts positions them for a bright future. Our Fifty for the Future event showcases tech students and provides them with the confidence to ensure a successful technology career. The event is full of enthusiasm and passion. I hope to continue to give back to the technology field by staying connected and helping in every way I can.
I have been a Board Member for almost 2 years and am so glad to be a part of this great organization. Being able to share my knowledge and energy to meet our mission has been personally rewarding. Being able to make an impact on students to choose technology as a career and provide someone they can talk to will greatly increase their chance of success as well.
I have participated in mentoring events, IT Leadership events and as a judge for competitions. These events are just some of the ways we can make a contribution to the future. I encourage all of you to participate as a volunteer whenever you can.
I've been a board member for several years and ITF is really an amazing organization to be part of. Over the time I have been engaged with the foundation the number of programs that we offer to help students has continued to evolve. The Fifty for the Future event is truly a special day where there is so much energy with outstanding future technologists that come together. I'm excited that I have had the opportunity to be involved and can't wait to see where we continue to go in the future.
I have had the privilege to be a board member for the Illinois Technology Foundation (ITF) from the very beginning. My fellow board members are an excellent collection of business executives, educators and students. My personal and professional enrichment from my interaction with the ITF and its members is beyond expectation. We thrive as a group with respect and energy that is unmatched. The ITF has multiple committees that allow us to achieve our mission and reach our students. I look forward to working on the committees and interacting with so many different people. Our mentor program has been the most personally rewarding. I so enjoy working with my students, sharing experiences and celebrating in our successes. I truly believe that I benefit most from these relationships. What is most amazing to me is that we all contribute our time and energy to the ITF because we want to. There are no negative agendas and over the years, our measurement of success is outstanding. We have a leadership structure that works. If allowed, I hope to continue my affiliation with the ITF for years to come!
I have been a part of the Illinois Technology Foundation (ITF) since its inception. What a great organization, and what a great way to give back to the Illinois Technology Students! Simply stated, the ITF is all about IT and Students. We support STEM education (specifically Technology) in all schools: STEM is Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. We currently serve High Schools and all colleges: Community, College and University, Graduate and Undergraduate, Public and Private. Check us out at www.illinoistchfoundation.org.
The US is currently ranked 21st in the world in Math. We need to get behind fostering a focus on STEM programs. The ITF is focused on the "T" in Illinois. We need to pay it forward so the next generation can continue to enjoy all that technology has brought our country now and in the past.
I am a proud member of the Illinois Technology Foundation. This non-for-profit's main cause is to cultivate and grow the technology skills throughout the Chicago area. This group is involved in so many efforts to help young students begin to understand what a career in Information Technology would be like, and expands to such great focus on providing scholarships for the 50 top scholars in our local universities, colleges, and junior colleges in what is known as the annual 50-for-the-Future event. This organization also provides mentoring opportunities with senior IT leaders across Chicago for students to discuss their career ambitions with, as well as providing a great networking opportunity through the Student Technology Club. These are only a couple of the many opportunities this Board is involved with in bringing value to the technology landscape and employment of highly qualified talent throughout the area.
I am proud to say that I have been a member of the ITF since it was established. All of the people who get involved with the Foundation are winners. The students win by getting real life insights of how they can apply their education to a productive and satisfying career and life. The volunteers win by going into to those students classroom and their lives, and sharing tomorrows very real possibilities with them. The corporations win by their participation and by increasing the local talent pool who can contribute to their growth through valuable employees. This wonderful win-circle keeps expanding throughout our community and all our future winners.
