I have been fortunate to visit the village and meet many of the families this project is helping. The work being done is outstanding and the results are proof that a small amount of money directly invested can achieve amazing results. Educating disadvantaged children, particularly those belonging to ethnic minorities is fundamentally important to help them alleviate their own and their families poverty. I am very pleased to be able to recommend this charity and to praise the work it is doing.
My husband and I are friends with the founders of this fund. And we are donors and remain very impressed with the good that this charity does. With NO overhead or board salaries, 100% of the donations to the fund go directly to the village and to their work there. We are now in the process of getting donations from our large group of feigns and families... to further enlarge what this fund is able to do. It is amazing just how far the donations go in Cambodia.
I am a University student among many students in the this project. This the real charity and the fund raising goes directly to the project which helps my community since 2005 in multiple scholarship programs such as Primary English, Cham literacy teaching, and especially University program. These programs in this project have been providing the great opportunity to our poor community to be able to get high and western education as other people who have ability to pay for schools. Cambodia Village Scholars Fund has improved my community a lot and directs our destiny to be best. It is the first and only one organization which useful and helpful for my community. Finally, I would to say that the donation from generous donors is the best to change the poor destiny.
This is a real charity -- no 30% overhead, no board salaries, no "hidden" costs to make the overhead seem smaller. Virtually all of the money raised goes directly to the beneficiaries, which is rare in these days of corporations entering the non-profit world. And the villagers truly appreciate the work being done . In fact, they took the initiative and used their own funds and labor to build a larger and better school for the English and Cham language classes, a certain sign that they value the program and what it will bring for their children.
I support the Cambodian Village Scholars Fund. Their mission is helping Cambodia's minorities in their decades-long recovery from the Khmer Rouge genocide, as well as encouraging cultural diversity in modern Cambodia. During the late 1970s, the Khmer Rouge annihilated about half (roughly 125,000) of all the Cambodian Cham, most of their cultural/religious leaders and their cultural and historic materials.
This grassroots organization contributes 88% of its resources directly to their recipients! The Cambodian Village Scholars Fund supports the preservation of their culture and provide basic skills for a new generation to participate in the global community. I appreciate the opportunity to give back in a direct and immediate way that is highly effective.
This nonprofit has continued now for a number of years to change the destiny of those less fortunate and in desperate need of assistance. Currently they have over a 100 students learning English and offering them the hope to continue with higher educational endeavors. I have donated now for a number of years and their founders continue to be involved in the evolution of this organization. I would very much encourage you to donate to this organization.
This is a wonderful organization that delivers results. Cambodian Village Scholars Fund is providing wonderful opportunities for these "forgotten" children and young adults. I have been a donor for two years and have seen the amazing results. A resent graduate has returned to his town to share his knowledge and expertise for the betterment of everyone. These students not only learn the basics but have the opportunity to learn, and keep alive, there native language.

What has and continues to impress me is the non-profit's dedication to creating economic development opportunities through the village's youth.
Even more impressive is that the Cambodian Village Scholars Fund channels all donations directly to the "Scholars": The Board absorbs all administrative fees.
My partner and I began this as a small project in 2005 when we visited a Cambodian hamlet where the villager teaching English had gone back to rice farming for lack of $30/mo. Now we have 100 children studying English, 80 children studying their indigenous Cham writing system, and a dozen students who we support at university. We have done all of this for under $13,000 per year and with under 5% overhead (which Board Members cover). I couldn't be prouder of the students or the friends who have helped give them these opportunities!
