Google+ Embeds

Embedding a Google+ post to your WordPress.com post or page is as easy as pasting the URL of the post on its own line.

The Google+ post will be fully embedded into your WordPress.com post, and will include:

  • The title and text of the post
  • Action buttons allowing your readers to either +1 the Google+ post or leave a comment on it directly
  • Inline links and the date and time of the Google+ post
  • A follow button allowing your readers to follow the Google+ post’s author

Embedding with a URL

Find a Google+ post you want to embed. Look for the date/time display in that post.

TIP: If you can’t see this date/time, click the number that indicates how long ago the post was shared (top right corner) to access the post’s full view.

Right-click on that date/time, and select Copy Link. (Some browsers may say Copy Link Location or Copy Link Address.)

Next, paste it on a line by itself in your Visual editor. Make sure that it is not hyperlinked.

That’s it! The Google+ post will look something like this:

Embedding with a shortcode

You can also use a shortcode to embed a Google+ post on your WordPress.com site. Simply copy and paste one of the following shortcodes into a post, page, or text widget. Be sure to change the Google URL to the one that you want to embed.

Display a Google+ Post:

[googleplus url=https://plus.google.com/107577179550139609711/posts/4EwjFDvYiVJ]
