    A colleague of 40 years service retired yesterday; “it is the greatest privilege to be entrusted with someone’s mother, father, brother, sister” he said. His commitment and compassion over 40 years saw him progress from being Healthcare Assistant to Chief Nurse.

    Ring fence NHS from political interference first and then see the transformation of NHS. 8 out of 10 citizens of UK are passionate about NHS. Everyone wants to do their utmost for this great institution that takes care of health of the nation from cradle to grave for free.

    Celebrate 70 years by introducing innovative ways to attract the best in all disciplines. Firstly though address the nursing shortage, start by reintroducing the bursary. Then we will know you’re serious and it’s not just the same old rhetoric.

    I thoroughly enjoyed the visit Alex. Fantastic motivated forward thinking staff making a big difference to our patients it was a privilege to meet them all.

    Thanks to for the morning visit yesterday. have such superb people; not least the incredible Theatre12 staying late to allow us to perform emergency pancreas surgery
