PROFILE

Andrew Clayton directs Pew’s efforts to end overfishing in Northwestern Europe using science-based policy development and advocacy. He is based in London.

Before joining Pew, Clayton gained extensive experience in fisheries management working in the UK Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs. During his 17 years in government, he held a variety of positions dealing with EU environmental, fisheries, and agricultural policy, in which he was responsible for developing UK policy, advising ministers, and working with a wide range of nongovernmental and industry organizations.

Clayton holds a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Wales in Aberystwyth.
