Ferris
Ferris is not a boner movie, that's actually one of the decent teen movies. Can't think of many other teen movies that are actually good unless Back to the Future is a teen movie (is it ?). Must be some ?
Does The Breakfast Club count? Or Young Poet's Society?
Fake news!(/s) But for real he apparently he got it up to 1.8 recently. So he’s definitely paying someone off practicing a lot.
Is lower better or worse?
I want to know how our vet did all that stuff and how ours reacted so badly! They're doing all contactless right now for very good reasons, hopefully by our second checkup we'll be able to watch!
I just realized if we ever get a tree, it's going to have poop instead of tinsel....
I haven’t used their app yet, but always enjoyed their puzzles. What’s wrong with it?
Even I originally tried, it was impossible to turn off "show mistakes instantly". There was a setting, but it didn't work.
I just tried again and that seems to work. First complaint is that when you use next / previous, it selects filled words. It's personal taste, probably, but after years of NYT I want identical functionality. I realize wanting functionality equivalent to my non-standard NYT config is asking a lot, but when so much is muscle memory it's really hard.
It also hides my home button, has an ugly ios-looking keyboard on my Android, doesn't have haptic feedback, and doesn't allow me to use the back button from menus. Those are all minor, but also irritating. It feels like it was written to fit ios style then lazily ported to Android.
Edit: just finishing today's with an annoying Natick (38D / 47A - I can't remember the answers because it apparently doesn't let you look back at the completed puzzle), it's much more annoying to guess the last letter since it pops up that you're wrong every time you change it.
On the website, I kept mixing up acrosses and downs. I did that so many times. I think it's just too similar colours. But that was awhile back.
Rex Parker isn't always right but he's completely right about this constructor. I have never enjoyed a puzzle with that byline. Today's was no exception. The theme was fine but the old fashioned fill was not.
I feel the opposite about today's constructor, I always feel like we're on the same wavelength
I had FTROOP filled in and sat there thinking how could it possibly be Ft. Roop when "fort" was in the clue. Finally figured out it's F-Troop.
That whole area was the only part that was remotely difficult, and it was REALLY hard for me. I didn't know ASHRAM or MOTO or YORK, and I'd confidently written in eRDU (I think I was considered with Ersi). Couldn't see REPUTED, my only potential salvation!
Hey but I think you’re missing a few keywords there “purposefully and intentionally “. He really does have a point.
That sounds more incel than gay.
That's interesting, why does he think healing is a bad fit for a roguelike? I could understand that plentiful healing would remove a lot of the risk in the game but I think healing being scarce and often having tradeoffs like it does in StS (for all classes except Ironclad) is fine and makes for a more interesting game overall.
I asked him to clarify. It's not that it's bad overall, in his mind, but if there are too many ways to do it, or if you can fill had every floor/level/whatever too easily, that tends to make the game less fun. Roguelikes tend to be games of attrition with carefully doled out gaming, if there was too much you'd have to make each floor way harder
I see, in that case I agree with him. Thanks for getting clarification.
"Healing is hard to balance" I guess covers all that :-)
