Immediately delete the article 100 best people ever[edit]

It makes no sense. Muhammad was a maniac. Please delete the page right now I'm requesting you like delete it RIGHT NOW — Preceding unsigned comment added by 183.83.167.193 (talk) 11:28, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

We don't have an article with that title. Please clarify. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 17:31, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
I googled that, interesting. Seems drawn from [1]. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:40, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
We do have an article about the book The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History. It doesn't in any way claim they are the "best people", and Wikipedia does not claim they are the most influential. We merely write about the book. PrimeHunter (talk) 19:07, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

Help with scale on Template::Graph::Chart[edit]

Hi. I've added some charts to COVID-19_pandemic_in_Wisconsin#Statistics_by_county (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views). These are my first charts, and this template is working nicely, except for scales on some of the Y axes. If for example you look at "New Cases Reported in Adams County", it shows 0 five times and 1 six times. It's not a huge deal, but it bugs me. Does anyone know how to fix? -Jeff the quiet (talk) 20:53, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

The answer dawned on me this morning: the excess ticks on the y-axis occur when the max value is 1 or 2, so for graphs with small maxes, set yAxisMax=10. That solves the problem with the y-axis, and makes the chart suggest small numbers better. With that, the charts are perfect :), and no other answer is needed. -Jeff the quiet (talk) 04:32, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

City i was wrong is incorrect[edit]

hi my name is juan carlos bianchi ( former tennis player) on your records says i was worn in Maracay , but i was born in Caracas. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.214.29.143 (talk) 19:50, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

Our article Juan Carlos Bianchi says you were born in Caracas. It once said you were born in Maracay, but that was corrected in July 2018. Maproom (talk) 19:55, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
I see that es:Juan Carlos Bianchi does say you were born in Maracay. Unfortunately my Spanish is so poor that I don't feel able to correct it competently. pt:Juan Carlos Bianchi says Caracas, but ar:حزقيال كارلوس بيانكي also says Maracay. Maproom (talk) 20:07, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

Unincorporation of Briar Tx[edit]

According to the 1990 census Briar Tx area located in Wise County was unincorporated in 1983. But the 2000 and 2010 census shows the opposite. Even google maps shows the opposite. I need to create a biography[edit]

Hello,

I would like to create a biography about "Dr. Guillermo Rodriguez Navarrete" known as "nutrillermo" who is a famous doctor in human nutrition located in Miami.. He has written more than 6 books about nutrition, he has been seen on TV in channels like "CNN en español" "Telemundo" "People" and "Univision". His website is "www.nutrillermo.com", his instagram is "@nutrillermo" . He also have programs to help people with malnutrition problems around the world.

How can I get someone to help me to write about him? thanks Axelleonm (talk) 03:58, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

You can request that an article be created at WP:AFC, but you're going to want to ensure that he's notable enough to merit an article. I'd recommend looking for reliable sources that discuss him as a first step. DonIago (talk) 13:21, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

German Wikipedia[edit]

I am a contributor since 2006, with several articles including the ones on Daniello Bartoli, Antonio Possevino and their books, etc.

I do not know how to edit German Wikipedia.

I have inserted a Wikicommons image:

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Portret_van_Aloysius_Bevilacqua,_RP-P-1910-1850.jpg

in the English Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aloysius_Bevilacqua and I want to add it to the German

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aloysius_Bevilacqua

If I can learn this I have many images on Wiki Commons I can add to articles in other languages.

BTW I read and speak en, es, it, de, fr

Thanks for finding someone who can give me assistance

@Gregorywoods90: I added a section header here for you. I see you were able to add the image to de:Aloysius Bevilacqua. If you need assistance on the German Wikipedia in the future, it looks like they have lots of documentation at de:Hilfe:Übersicht. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 16:51, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

Advice on resolving edit war[edit]

I'm writing on behalf of Norsat in regards to it's Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norsat. It appears that someone has been consistently reverting the changes/edits that we've made, which are fact-based (not promotional) information about the company. We do not want to engage in an editing war, and do not wish to remove any information the other editor has made. We simply want to ensure whatever information is posted is a correct depiction of the company. I would appreciate your help/suggestions on how to navigate this so we can resolve this issue amicably. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.181.107.242 (talkcontribs)

IP, nobody owns pages on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is community driven, and if your business is editing their own page, this is strictly against Wikipedia's conflict of interest and the paid editing subsection of the Wikimedia Terms of Service (see WP:COI and WP:PAID). Please refrain from editing your businesses Wikipedia page. Thank you. Ed6767 (talk) 21:57, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
@Dchoi11: You should read Ed6767's message instead of trying to hide it. Ian.thomson (talk) 22:26, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

Pages with same title but different case need collapsing into one[edit]

There are two pages purporting to cover Exterior Gateway Protocols https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exterior_gateway_protocol https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exterior_Gateway_Protocol Both are short. The lower case version is almost vestigial and has no citations. I feel the lower case version should be removed and just the upper case one left. I would have no idea how to do this and deal with any existing links (pretty new to wikipedia). Thanks Kewnut (talk) 03:58, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

PrimeHunter, you're good at this stuff, right? Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:06, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
As the hatnotes at top say (maybe not clearly enough?), Exterior gateway protocol is about the general concept of exterior gateway protocols while Exterior Gateway Protocol is about a specific exterior gateway protocol with the name "Exterior Gateway Protocol". Similar to Cola versus Coca-Cola. I'm not changing the articles. PrimeHunter (talk) 09:38, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Unless some reference material is available, the protocol for handling them is at WP:AFD. Both articles are full of inappropriate external links and citation needed tags and empty of in-depth reliable reference material. Seraphimblade Talk to me 09:40, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
Hm, if they are two different subjects, it seems one title should have some sort of parenthesis. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 13:46, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
The names are permitted by Wikipedia:Naming conventions (capitalization)#Page names that differ only by capitalization, and the example there has better potential disambiguators. PrimeHunter (talk) 13:51, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for the careful analysis and explanation Kewnut (talk) 04:47, 6 June 2020 (UTC)

Biographical article with several issues[edit]

Wowkie Zhang (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

The biographical article on Wowkie Zhang has a lot of issues, chiefly regarding its neutrality, lack and unreliability of sources, and the poor use of English. I've posted more specific comments on the talk page. I believe this article needs a massive overhaul, as its current version is not suitable for Wikipedia

id:Kontaminasi Kapitalis[edit]

Hallo there,

My name is Pamuji Slamet, from Indonesia.

I have issues on the Wikipedia page <https://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kontaminasi_Kapitalis>. Actually I am the one named Pamuji Slamet, written there. But these article written without my consent and have a lot of misinformation. I already tried to edit it, but as I made too much correction, I got a notification that Wikipedia can not allow such editing/writing. So what can I do, since this is about me, this issue is really important to me. Too bad there is no consent from the first writer. Could you help me, please? If I have to send you my photo or ID for verification, I can do it. Please help me to let me edit that page.

Thank you.

Best regards, Pamuji Slamet — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pamuji Slamet (talkcontribs) 08:23, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

Pamuji Slamet, your question is about an article in Indonesian-language Wikipedia. The way things are done there may be different from the way they're done here in English-language Wikipedia. (Here, editors are strongly discouraged from editing articles about themselves.) But you need to ask your question at a suitable page in id:Wikipedia, where people will know the rules that apply there. Maproom (talk) 09:24, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creation_Museum[edit]

At the top of the page, it reads "The Creation Museum, located in Petersburg, Kentucky, United States, is operated by the Christian creation apologetics organization Answers in Genesis (AiG). It promotes a pseudoscientific, young Earth creationist (YEC) explanation of the origin of the universe based on a literal interpretation of the Genesis creation narrative in the Bible."

The Word "pseudoscientific" is a matter of personal opinion, not a fact. It should be removed.

I have difficulty supporting Wikipedia because, so often, opinion is mixed in with fact, particularly with regard to religious institutions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:140:8101:7470:68C4:880E:BCC2:4B17 (talk) 18:55, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

The best place to discuss your concerns with the Creation Museum article is the corresponding talk page: Talk:Creation Museum. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 01:40, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

Rick Danko[edit]

Why does the entry state that he was born in 1943, but a photo in the entry show that he was born in 1942? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.186.112.150 (talk) 21:13, 9 June 2020 (UTC)

The caption for the photo at Rick Danko#Death says "the birth year is incorrect". Rick Danko#Citations has a detailed note saying he was actually born in 1943. PrimeHunter (talk) 22:04, 9 June 2020 (UTC)

Yasmin Vassoghian[edit]

Why is there no wiki page for Yasmin? She's an anchor, not an actress, on a morning news show. Her co+anchor has a wiki page.

Poiney aka Jackie Davis — Preceding unsigned comment added by Poiney (talkcontribs) 13:20, 10 June 2020 (UTC)

@Poiney:, the short answer is: "Because no editor as made one yet." There is no central authority here to add articles on a regularized basis. New articles get added when an editor feels like it. Good news: you can be that editor! Be forewarned, though, that an article on this person will be evaluated for notability, which has a different meaning on Wikipedia than it does in normal English usage. If you think that she is notable and want to make the article, I'd strongly suggest reading Your First Article and using the Article Wizard. I hope this helps. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 16:01, 10 June 2020 (UTC)

Need confirmation on the eligibility of a article, specifically in the WP:Notability section[edit]

First off, welcome back to Wikipedia me! I took a long wiki break, occasionally returning for small edits, but I feel fresh and ready to get back into the swing of things. I was interested in writing an article on Steamworks this already has a section within the steam (app) article, however, I personally believe it is eligible for its own page, as there has and will be significant media coverage protruding to this topic. I can also, however, Imagine controversy over weather or not this topic constitutes a new article. thoughts? Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 19:30, 12 June 2020 (UTC)

Need help on the Radical centrism article[edit]

Dear Help Page, re: Radical centrism (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)- As I'm sure you know, WP:CITEVAR instructs editors to not change the established citation style of articles. The Radical centrism article has maintained a consistent and established citation style since 2013. On June 2 and again on June 4, an editor (Treybien) changed the citation style of a minority of the article's 229 cites. No explanation was given.

I have tried to revert the changes, with appropriate explanation on the history page, but intermediate and subsequent edits have made it impossible for me to do so successfully. On the article's Talk page, I asked Treybien to revert, but he has not responded.

Therefore, this is to request that you roll back the edits posted on June 2, 3, and 4 of the Radical centrism article. They are all of a piece, as you will see – for example, several people corrected spelling errors in Treybien's edits. Another editor, who apparently did not read or heed the notes I posted on the history page, re-entered his edits to Treybien's edits on 12 June.

There is no content dispute here. I simply want one of WP's clearly stated rules to be enforced. I have contributed to this article since 2012, when it was a hodgepodge; please do not let it become so again! Sincerely, - Babel41 (talk) 04:39, 13 June 2020 (UTC)

Removing comments and edits of a blocked sockpuppet[edit]

Where can I request that the comments and edits of Smith0124, who was recently identified and blocked as a sockpuppet of the previously blocked Peterjack1, be removed/struck-through and reverted? This editor has made substantial edits on more than one hundred 2020 primary, caucus, and other election pages (e.g., deleting candidates from info boxes).

One area affected is Talk:2020 Democratic Party presidential primaries where this sockpuppet created two poorly constructed RfC's ([2], [3]). Can these be struck through? It would help the other editors clarify the issues without this disruptive presence. Humanengr (talk) 06:46, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
