  10. First it was buying oil for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, then leasing available space within the Reserve, then royalty relief, followed by paying the oil & gas industry to stop producing. Now the administration is suggesting loans in exchange for shares of private companies…

  12. Out of view of the big headlines, Big Ag continues to reach for cash. One player is the Commodity Credit Corporation, essentially a check processing entity. The other is the Sec. of Ag, whose authority to "assist" via the CCC is virtually unchecked.

  17. Just because the current economic challenge is unprecedented doesn't mean we have to put all sense aside. Rushing to give away federal O&G assets at a time of market turmoil would hurt taxpayers AND and help no-one. No drilling, no to dumb ideas. 4/4

  18. It WOULD be crazy, though, to try to help cos. by collecting less for leasing federal land/pumping taxpayer-owned oil, b/c: 1) it'll 🢁 production amid a supply glut😭 2) opportunity cost- waiting to sell oil when industry wants it most, when prices are high = win/win

  19. After _DECADES_ of subsidies to the industry, we're allergic to calls for a -🤮 BUT, it's not crazy to help *small* producers/oil services companies get the same access to / and aid that other small businesses have if they qualify. (2/4)

  20. Like many others, the oil/gas industry is in upheaval. **IF** it's necessary for the federal gov't to help, there's a right way and wrong way to go about it. I.e, aid can protect paychecks without sacrificing taxpayer-owned oil and gas assets and making the worse. 1/4
