Mike Treder
Mike Treder, executive director of the
Center for Responsible
Nanotechnology (CRN), is a professional writer, speaker, and activist
with a background in technology and communications company management.
In 2002, he cofounded CRN, a non-profit research and advocacy
organization that promotes public awareness and education, and works for
the crafting of effective policy to maximize benefits and reduce dangers.
As an accomplished presenter on the societal implications of emerging
technologies, he has addressed conferences and groups in the United
States, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, and Brazil.
Mike presented “Safe Utilization of Advanced Nanotechnology” when he was
the Keynote Speaker
at the
First International Seminar on Nanotechnology,
Society, and the Environment, in Sao Paolo, Brazil. He
presented “Do Sweat the Small Stuff: Why Everyone Should Care about
Nanotechnology” at the
World Future Society 2005 Conference, and
“Four Challenges of Nanotechnology” at the
Spring 2004 Foresight
Institute Senior Associates Gathering. He
coauthored
Safe Utilization of Advanced Nanotechnology in
KurzweilAI.net, and
authored
Accelerating Paradigm Shifts in Information Storage and
Retrieval in
Extropy Journal.
