How and When to Call Us

Stimulus Check Information: Please don't call. We’re sorry but our agents do not have any information about stimulus checks and cannot help if there’s a problem with yours. Please go online to the IRS for information about coronavirus stimulus checks.

For other topics, the USA.gov telephone line is available between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM ET, Monday through Friday, except federal holidays.

Call us toll-free at 1-844-USA-GOV1 (1-844-872-4681). Wait times may be long.

Scam alert--please note: If you received a call from this phone number and you’ve never previously contacted us, that call was not from USA.gov. We’ve received reports that scammers sometimes use our phone number on caller ID. This is called spoofing, and it’s illegal. Please don’t answer these calls. USA.gov's information specialists cannot take complaints about spoofed calls. But you can report them directly to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
