Slack for Good
Slack for Good
Aiming to increase the number of historically underrepresented individuals in the technology industry
Our initiatives
The tech sector is one in which anyone can work—and thrive—so long as they're given opportunity, access, support and training. Slack for Good is committed to creating concrete initiatives advancing our belief that the benefits gained from technology can and should be more widely and democratically distributed.
Slack has pledged to give one percent of company equity, time, and product to the community.
Next Chapter
Slack has built a pilot program aiming to help formerly incarcerated individuals find skilled, long-term employment in the technology sector and shift perceptions around re-entering individuals.
Code2040
Slack helps fund the Early Career Accelerator Program (ECAP) at Code2040 — a cohort program to support Black and Latinx professionals in the first two years of their technology careers.
Slack offices around the world give grants to local organizations. Beneficiaries have included Operation Code in Denver, Re:Coded in London, Inclusion in New York, and others.
Employee-inspired volunteering
With two days of paid volunteer time off (VTO), Slack employees are encouraged to serve their local communities by volunteering with any organization of their choice.
Slack for Nonprofits
Slack offers a free or discounted workspace to nonprofits.
Slack for Covid-19 efforts
Slack offers three months of a paid plan at no cost for organizations working on Covid-19 relief.
