Q1: Can I add/remove an image? or Why was my image removed?
A1: Yes, you can add and remove images but you might want to take some points into consideration before doing that. The images were carefully chosen in balance to represent the text in a neutral way from all parts of the country. All images have also been thoroughly checked for their copy right licenses while some are added to a switch code so that each time the server cache is refreshed, the image changes automatically to the next one listed in the code. Image removals and replacements are in most cases likely to be reverted due to such reasons. Please consider starting a section regarding the image on the article talk page and discuss how it should be added so as to get a consensus. See also Talk:Pakistan/Archive 13#Positioning, adding & removing images.
Q2: Can I add --- and --- details? or Why was my text removed?
A2: All text in Wikipedia has to be verifiable through reliable sources. Any content that does is not published in an independent reliable source can be removed. This article is specifically maintaining a much higher standard after it has been worked on in detail in such terms to keep it from becoming an original research. Also note that while your additions are notable they still might be reverted per WP:WEIGHT. WP:UNDUE and WP:NPOV. In case of such reverts, please use the talk page to discuss the content Also search or take a look through the archives listed on the talk page to see if that has been previously discussed to prevent a discussion going in circles over time.
Q3: Why no subsection for --- or ---?
A3: Please see WP:WEIGHT and WP:UNDUE. Everything related to Pakistan can not have a separate section as it would be undue to give it a mention at length. However, most related topics' main article is linked to in the article and the topic covered per its due weight. The main country article has much broader scope about the country rather than specific issues which might probably be occurring at a specific point of time of the country's history or a small part of it. If you still think some thing can be added to further improve the article or that subsections can be further improved, please start a discussion at the talk page with your proposal.
Q4: The map of Pakistan is incorrect!
A4: The dark green area shows the total area constituting Pakistan while the area shaded in light green denotes Jammu and Kashmir – territory that is claimed, but not administered, by Pakistan. This geographic detail is per neutral point of view and does not adhere to the Pakistani, Indian or any other government's descriptions of territory.
Q5: Terrorism/Kashmir/any other controversial topic should be mentioned more!
A5: Such topics are already covered in the article in terms of their actual issues or effects on the country. If you think any detail is missing, use the talk page to discuss that. Bluntly adding such details to the main country article is generally considered inappropriate.

The Total Nominal GDP Ranking of Pakistan currently reads “42th” and should be changed to “42nd”. Just trying to help, thanks! Theorchardist (talk) 07:58, 4 January 2020 (UTC)

Population is wrong[edit]

The Infobox says Pakistan has a population of 212,742,631 and gives as its only source the page https://web.archive.org/web/20171015113737/http://www.pbscensus.gov.pk/ . But the page itself says that the Census found a total population for Pakistan of 207,774,520 people. And the World Population clock also agrees that Pakistan population today is of 207 million people: https://countrymeters.info/en/Pakistan 213.245.147.96 (talk) 14:46, 28 January 2020 (UTC)

Pakistan position in population ranking is wrong[edit]

In the Infobox, it says Pakistan is #5 in population, but it is #6, as the link itself shows. In the text as well, first paragraph says "It is the world’s fifth-most populous country with a population exceeding 212.7 million people.", with a broken link as wrong source, when it should be corrected to "It is the world’s sixth-most populous country with a population exceeding 207 million people." 213.245.147.96 (talk) 21:56, 30 January 2020 (UTC)

Dear Sir/Ma'am,

please remove the word "Saraiki" which is mention in language information. because saraiki isn't any language there is history of saraiki language in Punjab. the movement who want to divide our punjabi is saying to our multani accent that it is separate saraiki language which is wrong. whole punjab speak punjabi language they have different accents of speaking punjabi.

Operation Searchlight and the question of genocide[edit]

The section on "Independance and Modern Pakistan" says:

       Some academics such as Rudolph Rummel and Rounaq Jahan say both sides[138] committed genocide;
others such as Richard Sisson and Leo E. Rose believe there was no genocide.[139]

This makes it sound as though the number of kind of killings by West Pakistan are equivalent to the number and type of killings by East Pakistan. Is this what is being suggested?

Looking at the source from Rummell, it seems that he suggests that the number of "demicides" by the West Pakistanis were 3x to 10x the number by the East Pakistanis. Does this support the statement that "both side committed genocide"? Does it support the idea that the "genocides" were equivalent? RayKiddy (talk) 05:15, 18 February 2020 (UTC)

Population wrong and/or inconsistent[edit]

Please change the phrase "world's sixth-most populous" to "world's fifth-most populous" inside the link in the second sentence of the article. Explanation: At the moment, the second sentence of the article is: "It is the world's sixth-most populous country with a population exceeding 207.8 million." When you click on the link 'world's sixth-most populous', you are redirected to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_and_dependencies_by_population where Pakistan is listed on rank 5 with a population of 218,741,520 (as of 25 Feb 2020). This change would not only make the article consistent with the list, but also with itself, because in the info-box about Pakistan, two population estimates are given and the more recent one, albeit different from the number in the list article, explicitly ranks Pakistan 5th in the world in terms of population. It reads: 212,228,286[13][14] (5th). Gunther Klobe (talk) 17:49, 25 February 2020 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gunther Klobe (talkcontribs) 06:05, February 25, 2020 (UTC)

Done For the reasons given above, fifth-most complies with the UN sources given in infobox and the linked list article. These are the best comparable figures for 2019 and supersede the 2017 figures. Also changed the ranking given in the "Demographics" section" Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 16:31, 25 February 2020 (UTC)

Spam in this Wiki[edit]

Hey Folks, I can't edit this one

But https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pakistan#cite_note-245 - This is now an affiliate marketing blog (www.ecosecretariat.org/), it looks like he picked up the expired domain with backlinks from wikipedia

If somebody with edit rights of this page could take a look, that'd be great

Looking at things further, this guy has hundreds of backlinks from wikipedia, all non-relevant now that his page has nothing to do with Pakistan, Islam, or the Middle East
