Building Donor Partnerships with a Leading Family Foundation

For more than five years, we have supported a donor engagement strategy for a US-based family foundation.

Drawing on our expertise in major-donor relationship stewardship, the foundation has leveraged its own giving to encourage new private donor commitments for global health and development issues.

With Geneva Global, our client has been able to build a long-term strategy to harness the growing opportunities to engage philanthropists, including those in emerging philanthropic markets such as the Middle East and Asia.

We have provided the relationship management support to cultivate and steward a cohort of private donor partners, many of whom have become advocates and conveners for our client’s priority issue areas.

 

Analyzing Donor Strategies for a Nonprofit

The client was challenged by a leading donor to raise matching funds.

Over a three-month engagement, we provided the research and analysis that allowed this client to identify prospective donors, determine a plan for engagement based on giving patterns, and better align efforts with available opportunities.

Using this information, the nonprofit was able to present its funder with a detailed strategy for engaging high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporations.

 

Conducting Prospect Research for a Growing Philanthropic Fund

During a period of rapid scale up, this client needed expert prospecting to help grow their donor portfolio.

We conducted prospect research to expand their list of potential donors and helped to uncover pathways to an introduction. As our work together evolved, we also provided the analysis to help prioritize outreach efforts.

With our support, the client’s fundraising team was able to expand their donor pipeline and present new prospects to the Board of Directors.

 

Equipping a Multilateral to Raise Funds for a Global Development Initiative

The client came to us for guidance on expanding the donor base for a successful agricultural financing initiative.

Working with the technical team, we refined the value proposition and vision for the program and developed targeted messaging. Our client received a donor communications manual with detailed advice on donor engagement, as well as an investment case and pitch deck to tell the story of their work.

In addition, we provided a prioritized list of donor prospects with messaging recommendations for each. Equipped with these tools, the client was well positioned to begin donor outreach.
