Accessing and Downloading Your Facebook Information

Facebook provides you with ways to access, download and transfer your information to another service.
Access Your Information
You can access your Facebook information, including photos, posts, reactions and comments, using the Access Your Information tool.
Download Your Information
You can also download a copy of your Facebook information using the Download Your Information tool. You can choose to receive your information in an HTML format that's easy to view, or a JSON format, which will allow you to transfer your information to another service.
  1. Go to the New File tab.
  2. Select date range
  3. Select file format and quality preference
  4. Select the types of information you want to be included in your file.
  5. Click Create File
Downloading your information is a password-protected process that only you will have access to. Once you've created a file, it will be available for download for a few days.

If you don't have a Facebook account, please select “This doesn't answer my question.”
To reactivate your account, log into Facebook with your email and password. If you're having trouble reactivating your account, visit the Help Center.
Once you've logged into your account, you can use our self-service tools to access and download your information.

Note: You won't find information or content that you've deleted from your account.
