Z_GIS is an interdisciplinary Centre of Competence for Geoinformatics, integrating basic and applied research with graduate education and outreach activities. By applying innovative spatial concepts and methodologies, we are contributing to the management of our societies, businesses and environments. As an Interfaculty Department, we develop geospatial competences across disciplines, offering graduate study programmes in residential as well as distance learning modes. Our global network of partners from academia and industry serves as a strong platform for joint research and exchange of students and faculty – supporting the worldwide geospatial community and fostering awareness of the spatial dimension of social and natural phenomena.
