Summary

Description
English: Comparison of several forms of disk storage showing tracks (not to scale); green denotes start and red denotes end. Direction of spirals are as viewed from the top (normally label side).

* Some CD-R(W) and DVD-R(W)/DVD+R(W) recorders operate in ZCLV, CAA or CAV modes. Dual Layer DVD switch reading direction when switching layers, so the second layer is read outside in.
