Soon, we'll be releasing tools in Twitter Developer Labs that developers can use to better help people with the new hide replies feature. To learn more and provide feedback, head over to our forum.

We know that some people who receive a large volume of replies may want help hiding them, and others may want the ability to hide automatically based on certain keywords, topics, or participants. We think developers can help them do this.

We want to enable developers to build tools that help people get the most out of this new feature, so we’re working on a way to do that. 🧵

The new sampled stream endpoint will replace GET statuses/sample once it graduates from Labs and is fully supported. Your feedback during Labs will be critical in making sure we build something that fits your needs.

We also want you to know about our future plans to deprecate the existing GET statuses/sample endpoint. We don’t have deprecation timing formalized yet, but we’ll give 6 months’ notice for migration.

With this endpoint, you can extract signals from the public conversation, by sampling 1% of all public Tweets as they happen.
