Gavi's innovative approach is guided by internationally agreed standards, principles and goals that aim to harmonise the efforts of donors, developing countries and aid agencies

We are committed to global health and development initiatives designed to harmonise support for developing countries. Each initiative sets common standards and objectives against which development organisations can design and measure their programmes; they also help to harmonise policies and programmes and increase their accountability.

It's better to prevent a disease than to treat it, both from a moral and an economic standpoint. This is a why the United Nations included vaccines for all – as well as universal health coverage – as key to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

International agreements like the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness and the International Health Partnership, also provide forums for us to share lessons from our own approaches and learn from others' experiences.
