26-27 January 2015: Pledging conference hosted by the German government, marking the culmination of Gavi’s second replenishment for 2016 – 2020. An opportunity for global leaders to stand together and mobilise an additional US$ 7.5 billion to save 5-6 million lives.

World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2015
To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Gavi at the same place where the Alliance was born a decade and a half ago, CEO Seth Berkley announced that 500m children have been reached through Gavi-supported routine immunisation since 2000, resulting in 7m lives saved.

World Cancer Day 2013
On 4 February, the GAVI joined its partners to celebrate World Cancer Day and help dispel the myths about cancer, such as the idea that cancer is a non-communicable disease. As many as 1.9 million cancer cases a year are believed to be caused by infections.
