26-27 January 2015: Pledging conference hosted by the German government, marking the culmination of Gavi’s second replenishment for 2016 – 2020.  An opportunity for global leaders to stand together and mobilise an additional US$ 7.5 billion to save 5-6 million lives.

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Gavi at the same place where the Alliance was born a decade and a half ago, CEO Seth Berkley announced that 500m children have been reached through Gavi-supported routine immunisation since 2000, resulting in 7m lives saved.

For girls in the developing world, a healthy childhood and adolescence is a key to a bright future. International Women’s Day on 8th March is a day to highlight the power of vaccines to deliver on the promise for girls and women.
