    What a beautiful day at the quad, and a great time to run into so many fantastic student groups. Saw our Orientation Team, some great food by Global AU, and I made my own smoothie – by bike! – with our Engineering and Sustainability team.

    I was so fortunate to work with Elijah Cummings when I was in the Executive Branch. Whether he was in the minority or the majority, he was a voice of reason, and someone who practiced grace, dignity, and empathy every single day.

    U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings was a committee chairman known for his devotion to Baltimore and civil rights and for blunt and passionate speechmaking. He died of longstanding health problems early Thursday morning at 68.
