The President of the Russian Olympic Committee took part in All-Russian Walking Day in the capital of the Udmurt Republic and, together with the residents of Izhevsk and guests of the capital city, covered a distance of 2020 meters dedicated to Russian athletes set to participate in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo next year.

The Sport Leaders Awards 2019 ceremony took place in Moscow awarding and honoring the best projects in the field of sports. The Russian Olympic Committee won in the nomination “Our team is the entire country!” for its project – House of Fans of Team Russia. The House of Fans was once again successfully organized at the recent 2nd European Games in Minsk.

Today, on October 4, the President of the ROC held a working meeting with the Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Spain and Head of the Spanish Handball Federation Francisco Blazquez. The President of the Russian Handball Federation Sergey Shishkarev also took part in the meeting. Both sides discussed cooperation in various areas, including Russia’s bid to host the European Women’s Handball Championship in 2024.

The President of the ROC held a working meeting with the head of the World Karate Federation (WKF), Antonio Espinos. During the meeting both sides discussed the Olympic prospects of karate, which will make its first appearance at Tokyo 2020, nevertheless, the combat sport was excluded from the Paris 2024 Olympic programme.
