    It shows a mixed picture, with some families really struggling and lacking the support they need. Findings suggest the lockdown exacerbated inequalities with young parents, low income families and BAME communities having a tougher time & with less acccess to care.

    We have repeatedly warned of limitations of phone & video work with families in F1001days, including difficulties seeing babies& assessing their needs & wellbeing.Further developments in this area MUST consider the specific needs of the youngest children.

    Today’s obesity strategy is another example of Government not seizing the “age of opportunity” & recognising the value of supporting families during the critical first 1001 days. To improve our nation’s physical & mental health Govt must invest in the pregnancy & the early years.
