Nikolay Yevmenov was born April 2, 1962. In 1987 he graduated from the Higher Naval School of Submarine Navigation named after Lenin Komsomol and was assigned to the Pacific Fleet.
He occupied positions from a group leader of the navigational department to the captain.
In 1998 he graduated from the Kuznetsov Naval Academy, in 2003 – the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
He was the Commander of formations of nuclear submarines of the Pacific Fleet.
In December 2011, he was appointed as Commander of submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet.
In September 2012, he became Chief of staff – First Deputy Commander of the Northern Fleet.
Since November 2015, he served as interim Commander of the Northern Fleet.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation № 154 dated April 5, 2016, Vice-Admiral Nikolay Yevmenov was appointed as Commander of the Northern Fleet.
Vice-Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov was awarded the Order of Military Merit (2006), Order of Naval Merit (2015), as well as departmental medals of the Russian Federation Defence Ministry.
