On 26-27 of April 2017 the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation is organizing the VI Moscow Conference on International Security.

Over the five years the Moscow conference has asserted itself as a reputable international forum for a frank and open discussion on a wide range of security and military cooperation issues. It traditionally focuses on searching effective solutions on how to tackle new and emerging security challenges.

Last year’s Conference looked closely at the international terrorism, which still remains among the most critical threats to peace and stability. A comprehensive and overarching approach is obviously needed to stand up to this threat. We believe it is important to continue the discussions we started at the last-year’s forum and share assessments and experience at the upcoming Conference.

The Defence Ministry of the Russian Federation will introduce its views on the role of the armed forces in the international anti-terror efforts. Other overriding issues of global and regional security requiring joint fact-based analysis and better adjusted mechanisms of military-to-military cooperation will also be in the spotlight of the Moscow conference.

This year the forum traditionally brings together Defence Ministers, Heads of International organizations, nongovernment experts and world’s think-tank representatives.
