YouTuber and gamer @LongSensationYT Tweeted that CoD 2019 is called Modern Warfare. Kotaku editor Jason Schreier (@jasonschreier) and others confirmed the news, saying the game is getting a "soft reboot."

I can confirm this is true, and that it's hilarious. The first one was "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" so obviously the fourth one is "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare." Video games are absurd

Feels like what EA/DICE did with Battlefield 1. I wish COD and Battlefield still had that same competitive battle going on when Battlefield 3 came out, it was most definitely Battlefield vs COD back then.Cod fell off, Battlefield fell off afterwards imo. Was a shame.

I have absolutely no problem with them calling it Call of Duty: Modern Warfare nor do I find it ridiculous in any way. If it's a reboot, it makes sense to drop the number, no? Haven't movies and games been doing this forever? Why do we all want to point and laugh at this one?

For the reboot, you might as will add another subtitle so its not so confusing. Something like "Call of Duty Modern Warfare: Defiance". Yeah, its awkward but hey, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines got away with it!
