    BASC's Dan Reynolds explains more about our Covid-19 shoot visits in his latest blog. Covid-19 guidance visits are available for BASC affiliated clubs/syndicates and gamekeeper members free of charge. The aim is to help them prepare for the coming season.

    Dr Colin Shedden, BASC’s director in Scotland, said: “In voting for this amendment, some members of the Scottish Parliament have effectively ignored the positive association between grouse moor management and mountain hare conservation."

    BASC respond to Scottish Parliament’s mountain hare vote. The Scottish Parliament has voted to give further protection to mountain hares in Scotland following the last-minute amendment proposed by Green Party MSP Alison Johnstone.

    BASC is calling the Green Party’s failed last minute attempt to ban the tail docking exemption for working gundogs in Scotland a win for animal welfare.

    Attempt to ban exemption on tail docking thrown out of Scottish Parliament. BASC's Dr Colin Shedden said: “The lifetime welfare benefits of allowing working gundogs to have their tails docked is backed up by the Scottish Government-funded research."

    BASC is advising members that has been postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. BASC can confirm that all member privileges – including complimentary admission – will roll over to next year’s event (July 23, 24, 25).

    Great work by gamekeepers & the Peak District Moorland Group who have created a task force to deal with the huge amount of rubbish left behind by visitors. They are asking everyone to take all their rubbish home & not to have BBQs or campfires due to the high risk of wildfire.
