Best Dessert Contest by Foodies of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack in association with Barbeque Nation, Bhubaneshwar

Foodies of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack added 56 new photos to the album: Barbeque Nation Best Dessert Contest — with Vishal Sharma at Barbeque Nation (Bhubaneswar, India).

Barbeque Nation, Bhubaneswar in association with the FoodFindo Network successfully organised the First Barbeque Nation Dessert Contest.

The contest received a...n overwhelming response. The top 10 finalists were shortlisted and were invited to present their masterpieces at Barbeque Nation, Bhubaneswar.

The winning chef would walk away with a voucher worth Rs 5,000. The winning recipe will be featured in the main menu of Barbeque Nation, Bhubaneswar for an entire month.

The top 10 finalists were spectacular giving the judges a tough time in picking the best one among the 10 amazing recipes.

The recipes were judged on the basis of
1) Recipe Composition
2) Appearance
3)Taste
4) Texture
5) Stability

Each recipe exhibited innovation, creativity and spoke volumes about the effort each chef devoted in designing their recipe.

The winning recipe was "Mango Moong Dal Halwa" by Ms Anita Agarwalla.

The dessert was a variation of the very humble moong daal halwa an had a hint of Mango flavour to it. Mango being the taste of the season was the pick for this recipe.

The event was judged by a panel of five members including:
1) Ms Honey Patnaik, incharge 90.4 SOA Community Radio Channel, Food Enthusiast
2) Mr Kalee Patnaik, A food connoisseur with an epicurean taste.
3) Ms Alka Jena, Food Stylist, Food Blogger & Food Photographer.
4) Mr Rohit Srivastava, Founder The FoodFindo Network and creator of the Foodies of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack forum.
5) Mr Sudip Haldaar, Cluster Chef, Barbeque Nation, Kolkata.

Ms Agarwalla a housewife from Dhenkanal presented a dessert which was a visual delight, a sheer pleasure for a foodie and an amazing fusion dessert of a traditional dessert in modern form.

We congratulate Ms Anita Agarwalla for winning the "Best Dessert Contest". We thank the participants for being such competitive yet sportive group of people who cheered and applauded each others efforts.

We thank our judges Honey Patnaik, Kalee Patnaik, Alka Jena & Sudip Haldaar for judging the event in a superb manner.
