How does Facebook show ads on mobile devices and Connected TVs?
If an advertiser is part of Facebook's Audience Network, you may see their ads outside of Facebook. This may include apps and websites on your mobile phone, computer or Connected TV.
Audience Network works similarly on mobile devices and connected TVs. On both types of devices, Facebook uses data to determine the most relevant ad for you based on information you've shared and types of users the advertiser wants to reach.
To show relevant ads on your connected TV, Facebook may use data such as IP address or Bluetooth to determine who is watching the connected TV and what ads that person may like. For instance, you may be watching your connected TV and using Facebook on your mobile device on the same home WiFi network with the same IP address. In this case, Facebook may match your Facebook account with that connected TV and use that match to display ads on your connected TV that the advertiser thinks you might enjoy.
As with other types of Facebook advertising, no identifying information is shared with the advertiser.
You can learn what influences the ads you see and how to take control over your ad experience on the About Ads page.
