About
You’ve laughed, cried, and cringed hard watching Cut’s viral game of brutal honesty and hard liquor, Truth or Drink.
Now you, your friends, your family, and strangers alike can turn private lives into public fun with a copy of our play-at-home game!
The game’s premise is simple yet treacherous:
We provide a deck of soul-piercing questions. Players face a choice: answer the question honestly—or take a shot.
For the play-at-home edition, we’ve designed a game that can not only be played in its classic one-on-one format, but also at awkward family gatherings, uncomfortable office parties, and the high school reunions you always wanted to ruin.
(You can even play without alcohol at all. We know!! But it’s true!!)
Here’s how to play the all-new group version:
We’ve designed this version with an optional added gameplay element, to add a tiny squirt of strategy to the standard question-and-answer dynamic.
Watch another video of the game being played, and read the full rules, here.
We’re Cut.com. We make videos that we know you already love, and last year we also successfully funded and launched our first game adaptation, Fear Pong.
We’re a gang of endearingly inappropriate yet strangely earnest people who want you to learn more about yourself and the ones around you.
For the last four years across 170+ videos, we’ve been the ones posing awkward questions to friends, relatives, strangers, and each other.
Now, we think it’s your turn.
This is a pre-order campaign! We haven’t printed the games yet—that’s why we’re raising funds on Kickstarter.
The amount that you pledge will reserve you a copy of the game, once it’s printed.
At the end of this month-long campaign, Kickstarter will send us all the funds we’ve raised. We’ll use that to print the finished games in whatever quantities we end up needing.
It’ll take about a month to print the games, and then another month to transport them from the factory to our warehouse.
Then, once we receive the games, we’ll ship you your very own copy, and everyone else their copies too!
We’ll ask you for your mailing address at that time. We prefer to collect that information close to when the game will actually ship, in case you move between now and then.
We anticipate this whole process (campaign, printing, shipping, and final deliveries of everyone’s order) will take around four months.
We will post project updates along the way to keep you informed of the progress!
If you have any specific questions about the project, you can feel free to send us a message via Kickstarter’s messaging system, or email games@cut.com.

The basic game can be played with just one deck.
The ‘ON THE ROCKS’ deck is the base deck. It contains our most classic, inquisitive questions—all piercing and provocative, but “safe for work” in topics and language.
Or, add a splash of invigorating strategy by incorporating the ‘WITH A TWIST’ deck.
The ‘EXTRA DIRTY’ deck includes our most racy and salacious questions...
Seriously. It gets really personal. You’ll learn so much.
And! Since we’ve achieved two stretch goals, we’ve ADDED a fourth AND a fifth deck to the Complete Box.
The ‘HAPPY HOUR’ deck contains radically affirming questions – sometimes, the hardest thing to do is be sincerely nice to each other. This deck forces you to be.
Finally—the ‘LAST CALL’ deck contains 106 extremely dangerous questions.
These are the questions we promise nobody wants to ask, nor hear the answers to. It will put your friendships, relationships, and friend circle to the ultimate test.
Get all five decks in the RIDIN’ DIRTY reward tier, along with a sturdy game box that contains room for additional decks to come!
UPDATE: We annihilated our first and our second stretch goals!! We’ve added the HAPPY HOUR DECK and the LAST CALL DECK to all copies of the Complete Box.
Now, in response to many inquiries and suggestions, we’ve added SHOT GLASSES. You can get the game bundled with 2 or 4 glasses (and you’ll be able to get them separately after the campaign, as well).
These shot glasses are made of BLACK GLASS and each is printed with one of two options: truth, or drink. IT’S ALL VERY CREATIVE.
The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth—this campaign serves you Truth or Drink in the following serving sizes:
Simple enough! You can even get multiple copies of the boxed edition at the even higher tiers!
If you want to bundle your pledge with other fine things from Cut (such as our other game, Fear Pong)—you can!
Just pledge for whichever Truth or Drink tier you want, and later on, when we send out backer surveys, you’ll have the chance to add additional items to your order at that time.
You will also be able to add more shot glasses to your order later on, when we collect your shipping address!
When we released the first Truth or Drink episodes into the world, we discovered that a simple game of brutal honesty sparked real revelations and insights that would never normally be possible in polite conversation.
After the series went viral and 300+ million views later, we realized that we we had to share the awkwardness, intimacy, and interpersonal discovery with you.
We hope you’ll find the experience just as rewarding as we have. And that’s the truth.
Risks and challenges
Luckily, Truth or Drink is a mechanically simple game. We’re using a manufacturer who specializes in playing cards, and a fulfillment company that specializes in Kickstarter projects.
We’ll post updates with any relevant news, and will keep you posted on any changes to our intended production schedule!
