AI TOOL REVOLUTIONIZES PROCESS FOR MATCHING CANCER PATIENTS WITH CLINICAL TRIALS

“A team of researchers from the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory Health Data Sciences Institute has harnessed the power of artificial intelligence to better match cancer patients with clinical trials.

The researchers were one of ten teams to develop a digital tool to address complex challenges relevant to medical conditions such as cancer and Lyme disease as part of The Opportunity Project (TOP) Health Sprint, a 14-week effort sponsored by the Census Bureau, coordinated by the Department of Health and Human Services, and…”

NEW TESLA SUPERCHARGERS WILL CUT CHARGING TIME IN HALF

“V3 is a completely new architecture for Supercharging. A new 1MW power cabinet with a similar design to our utility-scale products supports peak rates of up to 250kW per car. At this rate, a Model 3 Long Range operating at peak efficiency can recover up to 75 miles of charge in 5 minutes and charge at rates of up to 1,000 miles per hour. Combined with…”

The notebook isn’t intended to be a tool to fully realize illustrations from start to finish, but rather a jumping off point to get you started in a project. Artwork can later be manipulated and refined in Illustrator just like any normal vector shapes. Adobe and Moleskine call this “continuum between analog and digital” a simple solution to condense the steps in the creative process.

For creative professionals dissatisfied with the slippery glass display of the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, the notebook might be a great compromise. Illustrator files can be exported in various formats back to iOS for use in many professional applications.

This Quantum Sense Allows Birds to Navigate Earth’s Magnetic Field.

"Migratory birds have made their thousand-mile flights for millennia, but we are just now learning to map their mesmerizing journeys.”

According to the site's banner announcement, "As a result of a server migration project, any photos, videos, and audio files you uploaded more than three years ago, may no longer be available on or from MySpace." Some estimate nearly 50 million songs from 2003 to 2015 have been lost. According to MySpace users on Reddit, all pre-2015 music stopped working about a year ago.

So This is Making America Great Again?
Check out which bases in foreign countries are being considered for school and child care cuts. Then look at the Alaskan air base with no room for a school with 240 children additional. These are political targets. In Arizona McSally reports there should not be any such cuts. But we know who she’s a big fan of.

Trump's border wall money may come at expense of schools for military kids

AWAITING THE ADVENT OF A SLEEPING GIANT IN EDTECH

“Online learning taught by robots could be widespread by 2030. Thirty years ago, it was a big deal when schools got their first computers. Today, it’s a big deal when students get their own laptops.

According to futurist Thomas Frey, in 14 years it’ll be a big deal when students learn from robot teachers over the internet.

It’s not just because the technology will be that sophisticated, Frey says, but because the company responsible for it will be the largest of its kind.

“I’ve been predicting that by 2030 the largest company on the internet is going to be an education-based company that we haven’t heard of yet,” Frey, the senior futurist at the DaVinci Institute think tank, tells Business Insider…”

The Den of the Nargun, Mitchell Canyon
Celebration: countdown 6

more images: www.SilentTheory.net

In the summer of 1875, with fires raging above the gorge, the explorers Bunjil-Bottle, Turnmile and Howitt stumbled onto this sleeping waterfall.

Escaping the Mitchell Canyon, they climbed up Deadcock Creek until they came to a "wonderfully picturesque and beautiful place" surrounded by steep cliffs. When they arrived, lyrebirds were dancing in front of the cave.

Howitt sat and sketched the fall, while the two Brabrelung men explored the cave behind the fall, full of stalactites, exclaiming "ko-ki" in wonder and talking about the place. It is this conversation that resulted in our present identification of the site.

Turnmile suggested that this would be a great place to set up home. However, Bunjil-Bottle sounded a warning, considering that the cave was a likely haunt of the mysterious creature, the Nargun. In his diary, Howitt attempted to describe some of the beliefs about the Nargun: "...it is like a rock ("wallung"), and is said to be all stone except the breast and arms and bands. It inhabits caverns into which it drags unwary passersby. If you throw a spear or fire at it with a bullet will turn back on you and wound you."

Celebrate: Thank you. To celebrate what we all achieved on G+, i have been publishing the 50 most viewed posts in this collection (with 450m views) until shutdown. As number 6 is similar to another image i shared recently, so, instead, here is a more recent image of a sleeping fall from East Gippsland, just as Bunjil-Bottle, Turnmile and Howitt may have seen it. If you look closely, you too will see the eye of the Nargun.

People can sense Earth’s magnetic field, brain waves suggest.

"With this first compelling evidence that humans are subconsciously processing magnetic signals. It’s kind of intriguing to think that we have a sense of which we’re not consciously aware."
