heard you today on
@MSNBC .... you were terrific and I am so glad you (tried at least to) put everything in context. I was a bit surprised at@AliVelshi's pushback. -
Why are you surprised that I pushed back on criticism of me for something I not only DON’T do, but actively work against? His criticism wasn’t unfair in general, but of me and my coverage of Israel/Palestine, it was.
-
I did t see the segment but Ali is one of the few cable news anchors who always makes time for Palestine issues on his shows. Yousef is also a great analyst and activist. I’m proud to call both of them friends.
-
Yes. I love Ali Velshi and often say so. And he does. It was just a bit strange bcz he seemed to not allow
@YousefMunayyer to begin to frame his argument. No one is perfect and certainly no one is perfect every day. -
Yousef suggested - as part of his framing - that the reason I was hosting the discussion was because of Israelis in peril. That is simply not true, and nothing in my journalistic history would suggest that it was. And I told him as much, and we moved on.
-
That's fine! I just heard it as "why are we having this conversation now..." meaning not you, but generally. Because I think he had a really fair point. In any case, not an argument on which you need to spend time because I know your work and think it's great.

“Many residents”. They’re talking about 90-95% of Palestinian Arab residents of Jaffa. That’s not “many”; thats “almost all”.

Jaffa has to be one of the saddest episodes in the entire history of Palestine and the creation of Israel.

My maps you may have already seen, Palestine is the country. It was only after the WWII carve up 1947 that Israel was given land. Then turned right around and imposed Apartheid against the Palestinian people. Just my thoughts....pic.twitter.com/XyJ3psjdK2
