Today we are introducing Direct Games, an HTML5-based platform for games that can be launched within VK mobile applications. HTML5 technology makes it possible to develop full-scale, yet lightweight, web applications. These games do not require installation and provide a full-fledged gaming experience comparable to games played on social platforms on the web or most games on mobile devices.

In Direct Games, you can join other users to overthrow enemies or support each other with bonuses on complicated levels, share your victories with your friends, talk about your achievements in private and group chats or compete for first place on the leaderboard.

There are many ways for you to instantly join games: through a link on the wall, an invitation in a private message or by finding a game in the "Games" section. Direct games can be found in a block bearing the same name and are marked with a lightning bolt. Between you and entertainment there are no barriers: no password entry, no downloading the app to your phone and no waiting for installation.

Players

To start playing, select a game with a lightning bolt icon in the catalog, click on it, and in a few seconds it will start even with a slow internet connection (as the starting size of the game does not exceed 10 megabytes).

Today, the Direct Games platform is running in the VK app Android (which can be found in the latest update via Play Store). In the near future, the platform will be launched in the app for iOS as well.

Developers

If you are interested in adding your own HTML5-based game to the catalog, you can integrate the Mobile SDK, check the platform requirements and apply for moderation through the application's management.

VK selects only the best projects in terms of quality, graphics and integration with our social network, but we are ready to conduct experiments with games of various styles and genres.
