there is an emergency shelter for youth 16-21 and a new transitional housing program for pregnant and parenting teens. the emergency shelter has had incredible success at getting teens back on track; it has become a model program for other shelters in new york state. the associated after care program also has been very successful at helping these kids beome independent.

I have been a witness to this organization from the beginning. It has THE most caring people running the house. Since its inception, it has been a positive asset to the community. I cannot believe how many young people it has helped so far. It is well run, and well staffed with people who really care about the people they serve!

WAIT house provides a service that unfortunately is very much needed. A transitional home for homeless youth. They are non judgmental, caring and provide much needed guidance to the younger members of society.

I found WAIT House at a time in my life when I really needed help. They were there to help my son and I get away from a bad situation and get me back on my feet. I have no idea what I would have done had I not found the wonderful people at WAIT house. THey were able to help me with shelter, food, in court, getting an apartment set up and countless other things. I always felt safe and listened too and that sometimes is the best medicine. There should be more places like WAIT house across the country for teens to get help. I was the first mother with child in the WAIT house and I feel honored to be in that position. I talk about how the WAIT house helped me to everyone in the new state (Georgia) I moved to shortly after leaving the WAIT house. Without the WAIT house there is no telling where my life would have ended up. They are God's angels on earth at the WAIT house!!!!
