This is a known bug we've got our eyes on 🐛. Although we don't have a fix for this now, here are 2 workaround options:
1. After paste, add `/2` to the Width or Height field, or
2. Take a screenshot to the desktop/file system, and drag+drop the image from there to your Canvas
