I want to complain about a particular bartender there. 59 dollars for two shots of Vegas bombs seems very outrageous. I gave 20 dollars in cash for them and w...as still charged 59 dollars for them. I was treated like a piece of scum for it and personally do not feel welcome here anymore. I will call my bank to complain to possibly receive my money back and possibly to the Better Buisness Bureau. The bartender in question is a short blond that was working during Theresa's Halloween bash. I do not feel welcome here and personally will not recommend this bar to anyone I know I will continually complain online for the way I was treated. See More

Okay so here it goes.........not since the days of packed venues and the many times i enjoyed the good ol days at The Engine Room have i been to any other venue... which made me feel alive again like Proof Rooftop Lounge . The Hatebreed show , was one of the best experiences i've had to date being amongst metal brothers and sisters who grew up during my time and youngins alike. Speechless, they even remembered my birthday was the next day . Jasta from Hatebreed , the singer said "happy birthday brother!" So did the guys from Kublai Khan and Shattered Sun. So this Saturday I went there with my friends for Halloween party and we reserved a table on VIP package with a bottle and 4 vip tickets, which I already prepai...d for on eventbrite. Later on I was charged again for that same bottle that I already paid for. When I took it to manager to show that it’s not the right thing and I already agreed on price with my promoter who arranged this. They went on a rant how I just paid for reservation and it does not include bottle price. I have never seen a reservation where money just go for reservation and not toward the bill. At the end of the night I just had horrible experience. They don’t want to listen. They don’t know how to communicate between each other. The short blonde girl and manager are so disrespectful. I asked my promoter to solve the issue but they didn’t even want to listen to him. At the end we paid 500$ for a bottle which is ridiculous. Never going back there again! See More

First time there and had a great time. Don't like that there is no where to sit unless you reserve, but whatever. Drink prices are pretty high, $8 for small mix...ed drink seems like a lot compared to other bars I go to. I like that it is a small venue and the sound is great from anywhere you are. All of the staff were friendly. I also liked the fact that it wasn't full of a bunch of drunk "kids." (Could be the fact that it was an 80's metal band. Lol) See More

I've been to Proof several times but last night was by far, my worst experience.
We had free tickets to see Puddle of Mudd. Doors opened @ 6, we arrived befo...re 630 am found a 'unreserved' table as many of them has reserved signs on them. After 30-45 mins, a server came by and put a reserved sign on our table. They than told us that we had to move (by now-all tables has reserved signs even though many were empty) or give a credit card as the minimum dollar amount would be $200. It than changed to $350. Just 'in case' someone wanted to reserve it. Eventually someone in our party of 11 gave the credit card but They gave us such a hard time over this, I doubt I'll go back. Totally turned me off on the place. Oh-and the band didn't show! See More

Very cool for putting on all the free shows. I think they more than make up for it with the 7 dollar beers though. Fair enough. Only thing that kinda ticked me ...off- went to see Helstar on November 9th. They advertised an after party from 11-2. They kind of arbitrarily decided to close at midnight instead. I had just ordered a 10 dollar double Jack/Coke. Then security and the police who were there started kicking everyone out. I really didn't appreciate being rushed out of the place after ordering an expensive drink like that. And ZERO heads up from the bartender that they were closing early. Security tends to treat paying customers like God damn sheep, especially at closing time. I may not go back for a while. See More

The vvenue sucked. Staff was extremely rude and just plain stupid. Nobody knew anything. Two staff members shoved my fiancee who has a heart condition. Thhis wa...s the first and last time we will ever go there. You should either get your shit together or close the doors. Oh, and when i went to the bar to get my credit card, some asian bitch who didnt even servve me was being pushy about a tip. Shitty venue.. it could be cool but not the way it is being run and managed. See More

Came to see Puddle of Mudd who didn't show up... and the Venue didn't have the courtesy of letting any body know.. they put the first bands on late so I figured... something was up... but when it for really late I asked my husband to all somebody if they were still having the band... but they said no because the singer didn't show up... ok... Well that's ok but they could have informed people do they would know... but I knew that they didn't tell no body because of the alcohol they were selling.... my husband spent almost $60 on the beers... he could have spent less at home... The band didn't show up again. I left my card there and they were too busy for three days to check and let me know they had it. Her response was just cancel it ...and get another one. Kiss my ass. I have payments and bills tied that card it isn't as easy as just getting a new card. Hope you lose your card sometime and the business treats you like shit See More

I love this place!! Jeremy Spurgeon is our favorite bartender, we drive in from Galveston and truly appreciate how he always remembers what we drink and always ...on top with refills 🙂 We do absolutely LOVE your place, it 's well worth the drive. The DJ was the only thing hot that Friday night. $12 Mai tai in a plastic cup -no, so not worth it. If you want me to spend $$$ you need to be classier then that. Really?!? $12 for a drink in a small plastic cup. Gloria's had better drinks & was livelier than this. Nope, not worth it.

I've been here a couple of times. I was here when Juicy M and Elle Morgan had a show. Never got charged for cover and everyone on the staff seemed pretty nice. Spacious rooftop view and the djs play good music. I was there a couple of days ago for my birthday and it was pretty chill.

Please either stop booking bands like Hatebreed or get some new off duty HPD guards. One of them walked into the middle of the pit, I guess demanding they stop...? 30 seconds later Jamey is calling for a circle pit. Could not tell if cop was still in pit. I thought there was about to be a riot and cop was gonna start shooting. For the safety of all involved rethink some things. See More

My fiancee and I frequent Proof during alot of the free shows. We were there last night ( October 1st ) for the Kix show. It was an outstanding show however; al...l night during the opening acts and Kix themselves, the sound was off. During Pulse Rate Zero, the overall sound was flat and the vocals were intermittent. During Johnny Salinger, the sound had no top or bottom end. During Kix, at times the vocals seemed to cut out entirely. Now, I still give five stars for last night because of how great the bands were but, the sound man sucked and the beer prices were absurdly high...We will still go back for the next show but, hopefully these things will be ironed out. It's a cool place to view some acts and have some drinks. I highly recommend staying/drinking domestic drinks at this place. I paid for $7 for a XX beer and $3 for a bottle of water.

Been meaning to go there several times. Glad I went. Great set up. Lots of room. Only draw back is since it's outdoors everyone smokes. Ug! It's open ceil...ing but high walls keeps the smoke in there. Sound was great! Heard they will be building a retractable roof. I'll def be back for all the hair bands! �� See More

Pretty cool venue, really loved seeing one of my favorite bands of the 70's " Great White" really kicked butt by the way love the stage being on the Roof very... cool set-up...the only negative is the beers are pretty pricey after happy hour ends at 8pm ( 12oz miller lite was $4 before 8pm and jumped to $6 after that) C'mon man!! Drove in from SATX, been wanting to visit and had been watching lots of great bands listed. Nice staff, good layout and enjoyed the show. Will be back. Only down fall, valet is a little pricey and the wait was very long to get our vehicle.

Not enough lounge tables. Some air circulators would be nice to circulate the hot air generated by crowded shows. $15 for a half glass not a tall Jim beam and Coke is way over priced
